Joss Stone has announced that she has adopted a child in a sweet video on social media.
The English singer, 37, revealed to her fans that she has adopted a son named Bear.
The Super Duper Love singer shared a video of a phone call with her followers in which she and her husband were told that they had been selected by the adoptive mother and would be able to pick up their son the very next day.
In the video, she shared that ‘dreams do come true’ and ‘it all happened so fast’ but she was able to pick up her third child the weekend before Thanksgiving.
The video showed them telling their children two older biological children that they were going to a hospital to collect their little brother.
After mistakenly visiting the wrong hospital the couple then found the right hospital and met their son after he spent the first days of his life in the NICU.
They shared sweet videos of them feeding the tiny tot and then being cuddled by their older brother and sister.
Joss captioned the sweet video: ‘Happy mummy Mondays. This is what happened to us last Monday. We can not quite believe it. We are in love big time with this little guy.’
She then reflected that her husband was also adopted and thanked her son’s ‘tummy mummy’ for giving him up for adoption.
‘The reason why Cody even exists is because his bio mum loved him enough to make an adoption plan for him and the same goes for Bear.
‘Honestly, bio mothers do not get the gratitude they deserve. It is a more selfless love than I knew existed. Truly. We are just so happy to be part of this beautiful cycle.
‘Please share your stories of adoption in the comments if you have any. And please welcome our gorgeous baby boy to this wonderful world xxxx’
In 2023 the singer told Joss told HELLO! magazine that they were looking into adoption to expand their brood: ‘We’re trying to do our home study. I hope we get to do it. I want, like, 25 kids.’
The singer gave birth to her first child, a daughter named Violet, with boyfriend Cody DaLuz in January 2021.
The couple then had a second child, a son named Shackleton in October 2022, the same year that the family relocated to Nashville Tennessee.
In October 2023, the couple tied the knot and as of November 2024 they are the parents to three children after adopting Bear.
Joss suffered from a traumatic birth with her second child. Speaking to People she revealed : ‘He was coming down the birth canal, and when my uterus split, his head went into my abdomen and he went back up.
‘They had to bring him back to breathing again,’ she revealed.
She was then brought into an operating room and was put to sleep. She recalled hearing: ‘”OK, we’re going to sleep,” and then I woke up, I had my baby and everything was okay.’
Although the singer lives in the US at the moment, she has revealed she wants her children to move over to the UK before they are school-age.
She told the Sunday Times magazine: ‘We’ll move home to Devon in time for Violet to go to school. I want my kids to have the kind of upbringing I did — riding horses, climbing trees and being near my family. I hope Cody likes it over there.’
