  • How To Defeat Repertails & Rewards

After completing Red XIII’s trial in the Cosmo Canyon, additional side quests will open up to be completed in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Due to the nature of Cosmo Canyon and those living there, this quest will heavily focus on the planet and give players a chance to get closer to its last steward, Aerith.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: 10 Best Materia, Ranked

Players will have a lot of Materia to choose from in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth; here are the best ones to equip on your party.

While this quest focuses on taking pictures throughout Cosmo Canyon, players will want to heal up and make sure they have enough MP before beginning this quest. It’s also helpful to bring some Fire and Ice Materia and have them equipped for your party. When taking the pictures, any will do, but getting 80% or above on each will result in better rewards for this quest.

Celestial Phenomena I

The first Celestial Phenomena is found at the airstrip of the region, and fast traveling there is the quickest path. From the airstrip, turn and look to the left side of the canyon to find a rock path leading along the mountain and up towards the back of the airstrip. After defeating the Reapertail, wait for Aerith to stop moving and pray and go stand to the left next to her. Aim the camera more at the rock formation and zoom in just a bit to find the sweet spot.

Celestial Phenomena II

The second Celestial Phenomena is found in the southwestern area of the region. Follow the path to the left along the side of the mountain to find and defeat the Reapertail at the top. When taking the photo, getting a picture of Aerith when the circle turns green will lead to an additional cutscene and key item at the end of the quest. Stand to the left of Aerith again when she is praying and aim just a little up and to the right of the pointed rock formation.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: Best Party Composition

Players will make parties of three out of the seven available party members in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth; here are the best compositions.

Celestial Phenomena III

The final Celestial Phenomena is found in one of the more difficult to reach places in the region. To get there, players will need to jump along the Gliding Ranges using the Chocobo in order, 6,7,11,12,13, 14, and 16. Run past 15 and up the mountain to find number 16, and the rest should be in mostly linear order. At the top of the mountain, ride your Chocobo along the right side of the peak to find a wind spot that will boost your Chocobo to the top.

Upon defeating the Reapertail, the additional cutscene will play, and the Cloud and Aerith selfie will be added to the key items. For the final photo, stand to Aerith’s left side and take the picture focusing just up and to the right of the left mountain peak. After taking all three photos, return to The Skywatchers for your reward.

How To Defeat Repertails & Rewards

Cloud Accessing A Reapertail

Despite their size, Repaertails are fairly easy to take down. They are weak to Ice, and following up with a powerful fire spell will just about fill their Pressure bar and Stagger them. Once Staggered, continue with Ice spells to further the damage and finish the creatures off.

Upon completing this side quest, players will get XP, Party XP, and Relationship Statis points with Aerith. Players will also get the accessory Tarot Cards, which extend the duration of negative status effects on enemies.

While Materia gives players a low-level spell right away, they can be powered up more to learn even stronger spells. Going back to previous regions is an easy way to power up Materia and get those stronger spells.
