Samsung has announced that some new apps are coming to the Samsung Galaxy Watch, and this will include WhatsApp, Samsung Wallet, and Thermo Check. Samsung will also announce more features for the Galaxy Watch in Samsung Unpacked later this month.
The Samsung Unpacked event will be held on July 26 and Samsung will announce its latest foldable smartphones at the event, and this will include the Galaxy Fold 5 and Galaxy Flip 5.
Here are details about the new apps that come on top of the Galaxy Watch.
- Samsung wallet: Last year, Samsung Wallet combined Samsung Pay with Samsung Pass to integrate more users’ wallets on their smartphones. Now, Samsung Wallet is coming to the new Galaxy Watch series as well. With the all-in-one Samsung Wallet app, users can easily make payments, submit IDs, and withdraw show tickets[2] directly on their smartwatch.
- Thermal check: Thanks to the new Skin Temperature API — part of Samsung’s Premium Health Software Development Kit (SDK) — partners can now take full advantage of the Galaxy Watch’s advanced infrared technology to measure temperature. The new Thermo Check app allows users to easily measure the temperature of their surroundings, from the meals they are about to eat to the water they are about to swim in, all without the need for any physical contact. It will be available first on the upcoming Galaxy Watch devices and will later be expanded to the Galaxy Watch5 series[3].
- The WhatsAppIn a new expansion of the unified Wear OS ecosystem, Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch4 users can now use the first-ever WhatsApp smartwatch app. The app will allow users to continue conversations, respond to messages with voice, and even answer calls, all without having to take out their phones[4].
