Perrie Edwards has admitted she and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have never actually lived together.

The loved up couple have been together for almost a decade, but the Little Mix singer admitted she and her footballer fiance – who have son Axel together and got engaged in June 2022 – have never shared a home.

Appearing on this weekend’s episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, she was asked about the long distance romance with her man currently playing for Turkish club Beşiktaş and told the host : ‘I can’t lie, it is hard.

‘When he was playing for Liverpool and based in Manchester, it was so easy to do the back and forth but Turkey is a little bit further and he doesn’t get a lot of time off.

‘I’m trying to launch a solo career whilst having a two year old so it is a lot to juggle but we make it work for the ones we love don’t we?

‘We’ve never lived together anyway – the whole eight years we’ve been in a relationship we’ve never actually lived together.’

Fans will get more of insight into their relationship on her debut solo album, and she admitted one of the tracks – which she co-wrote with RAYE – delves into the dynamics of their romance.

‘Full disclosure, me and my partner don’t argue, we’re very laid back and very chilled. But at the same time, I can be a little bit of a petty b***h and I can’t help it,’ she quipped.

‘I don’t know whether it’s my star sign – cancer. I’m very stubborn, I’m very emotional but not in the best way. I will hold a grudge for anything he might say.

‘I just can’t help the way I am, I’m just like that but we just started writing a song about it and I just thought the lyrics were super relatable.’

Perrie recently released her new single Forget About Us, and she admitted it was strange breaking out on her own after rising to fame as part of Little Mix alongside Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson.

She said: ‘It’s really bizarre not having them with me, it does feel really different. I think it was just the right time for us to part ways, do our own thing and I just want them to win so it’s nice seeing them do their own thing as well.’

‌She is ‘terrified’ about going solo, and added: ‘It’s so different and it’s not what I’m used to. From being 16 I was in Little Mix so I don’t know any different so it is quite daunting but I’m having such a good time so far.’

Meanwhile, Perrie is also struggling when it comes to actually naming her first solo record, with her team encouraging her to keep it simple.

‘It’s really hard – I can’t think of anything,’ she admitted. ‘Everyone says “Just call it Perrie”. It’s hard. I don’t know.’

The Jonathan Ross Show airs Saturdays at 10:05pm on ITV1.
