. - While still disconnected from Rey, Ridley hopes that the crew will be filled with familiar faces.
Daisy Ridley is somewhat wary about returning to her next Star Wars movie, Star Wars: New Jedi Order. Ridley first joined the universe as the young Rey in The Force Awakens (2015). At the time, Ridley was 23 years old. She then starred in the rest of the trilogy, temporarily stepping away from the franchise after 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. She has since gone on to star in various movies and shows, including Chaos Walking, The Marsh King’s Daughter, and Magpie. Still, Ridley will be returning to Star Wars to reprise her role as Rey.
While Ridley prepares for the upcoming New Jedi Order, she has been forced to recognize her disconnection from Rey. In an interview with Total Film, Ridley admitted that it will feel “so different” to the atmosphere of the sequel trilogy. She will no longer be the youngest person on set, but she still hopes that the production will retain the crew that she is familiar with. Check out her full quote below:
“I honestly have had moments where I’m like, ‘I don’t know if I remember what I did [as Rey].’ It’s really strange. I think the whole thing will feel so different anyway with a totally different team. I’m in a very different place than I was. I’m probably going to be one of the adults, and initially, I was the youngest person on set, which is a weird feeling. I would also hope that it’s a lot of the same crew. Obviously, many people shifted, but many people stayed the same through all three films, and there was something wonderful and comforting about that. But I don’t know. It all remains to be seen. I would hope it feels natural in some way, but also like – I don’t know – like it’s a new adventure. I’m hoping it’s sort of a bit of both.”

Star Wars: New Jedi Order
The tenth mainline installment in the Star Wars franchise is the first movie to follow the sequel trilogy, where Mark Hamill’s Luke, Carrie Fisher’s Leia, and Harrison Ford’s Han Solo gave their final farewell. After the release of The Rise of Skywalker, development on a direct sequel had become dormant as Disney shifted focus on other parts of the galaxy, namely, Disney+ shows such as The Mandalorian, Andor, and Ahsoka. However, a movie starring Daisy Ridley as Rey Skywalker was officially announced at Star Wars Celebration 2023.
