Ahsoka & Rex Unite In Fantastic Clone Wars Cosplay Team-Up

One brilliant Star Wars cosplay perfectly captures the playful relationship between Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ Jedi Ahsoka Tano and clone trooper Captain Rex. Ahsoka and Rex are truly among the best Star Wars duos from throughout the Star Wars timeline. In fact, although they began their friendship with a bit of cheeky banter, the two have grown into some of the greatest friends in Star Wars movies and TV shows, surviving the horrors of both the Clone Wars and Order 66 together. Now, two Star Wars cosplayers have brought their incredible dynamic to life.

Posted by imthecaptain501 on Instagram, the cosplay depicts Ahsoka Tano in her classic Clone Wars outfit, crouching and wielding her two green lightsabers beneath Captain Rex, suited up and ready to fight. As the caption of the post describes them, Star Wars’ two “best friends” are perfectly captured by these impressive cosplayers.

Seeing Captain Rex and Ahsoka Tano reunite in a cosplay is also a reminder that, with both characters still alive and active in Star Wars, they could have a real reunion on screen in one of Star Wars’ upcoming projects.

Where Could Captain Rex Appear Next?

Captain Rex has become extremely popular since his introduction in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie in 2008, and his recurring cameos go to show that he remains a fan favorite. After starring in The Clone Wars show alongside Ahsoka, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Anakin Skywalker, Captain Rex went on to appear in Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi. He then made his live-action debut in the Ahsoka show.

However, while Rex was in Ahsoka, his appearance was only done in flashback, during the scenes when Ahsoka was thrust back into the Clone Wars era in the World Between Worlds. While it was a thrill to see him, the character has every opportunity to return to live-action again but, more excitingly, in the present day. With the upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, Rex could come to the aid of the New Republic as they face their newest threats. Alternatively, though, Rex could appear in the upcoming Ahsoka season 2.

This option is the better of the two because it would increase the likelihood that Rex and Ahsoka would have a reunion following the fall of the Empire, perhaps finally getting a bit of closure together on the horrors they experienced. This would also confirm Rex’s whereabouts in Star Wars, as they are currently unknown. Moreover, as this brilliant cosplay demonstrates, audiences love to see Captain Rex and Ahsoka Tano team up because of their beautiful friendship in Star Wars: The Clone Wars; Rex’s cameo in Ahsoka season 2 would therefore be perfect.
