Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) is set to find herself in a terrifying situation when she comes face to face with sex abuser Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper) in upcoming Coronation Street scenes.
Following Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) disappearance and Bobby Crawford’s (Jack Carroll) false statement, police organise a reconstruction of what were believed to be her last movements.
Bobby, Bethany, Max Turner (Paddy Bever) and Beth Tinker (Lisa George) all gather in the precinct for the reconstruction, and are quick to notice the crowds forming around the area.
However, Bethany’s eye is instantly drawn to one man, and it soon becomes clear that sex abuser Nathan is among them.
She understandably struggles to contain her emotions after spotting him, having believed that he was still in prison after having been found guilty for raping her in 2017.
Bethany rushes off, and is later found at home distressed by Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard). She explains that she thought she saw Nathan at the reconstruction, but he assures her that he is in prison and her mind is simply playing tricks on her.
When Daniel is still of the same belief the next day, Bethany pauses the clip of the reconstruction to show him a close up of Nathan.
Determined to get answers, Bethany heads to the police station, where DS Swain (Vicky Myers) confirms that Nathan was released from prison months ago.
Bethany is furious, and urges her to haul him in for questioning, fully convinced that he has something to do with Lauren’s disappearance.
