As Transformers One‘s trailer confirms, Bumblebee has a major power upgrade that potentially makes him stronger than his Michael Bay counterpart. Directed by Josh Cooley, Transformers One primarily unfolds on Cybertron and walks through the origin stories of friends-turned-enemies Optimus Prime and Megatron. In more ways than one, Transformers One is already changing the overarching movie franchise. For instance, it is the first movie featuring the Autobots and Decepticons as allies before disclosing the reason behind their eventual fallout.

Apart from that, the film also seems to embrace comedy way more than the live-action Transformers, promising it will pack a few good gags with slambang action scenes. Even when it comes to its characters, Transformers One seems to give them some new intriguing upgrades and downgrades, allowing it to create its own distinct identity in the franchise. One of these upgrades is given to Bumblebee, making him appear more powerful than his live-action version from the Michael Bay movies.

Bumblebee’s Knife Hands In Transformers One Give Him A Major Power Upgrade

The Transformers One Upgrade Gives Bee A Major Edge In Close-Ranged Combat

Transformers One‘s trailer gives some intriguing revelations about its characters and their powers. However, one of its best moments is when Bumblebee realizes he has blades coming out of his hands and unknowingly slashes an enemy while showing Optimus Prime his new upgrade. While the movie will likely feature more gripping action scenes, where Bumblebee will put this newfound ability to good use, the trailer makes it evident that knife hands” make the Autobot more lethal during fistfights. Interestingly, Bumblebee’s knife hands turn into his headlights when he transforms.

Considering how other Transformers often carry deadlier long-range weapons, blades coming out of Bumblebee’s hands may not seem all that impressive. However, during the brief moment where Bumblebee uses his knife hands in the trailer, he seems to effortlessly decapitate his enemy without even realizing what he is doing. This establishes that his hands pose a threat to anyone who dares to come too close to him during combat. Hopefully, Transformers One will feature many more scenes where Bumblebee flaunts his new upgrade.

Michael Bay’s Transformers Movies Never Gave Bumblebee His Blades

Transformers One’s Bumblebee Is Arguably Much Stronger With The Upgrade

In Michael Bay’s Transformers movies, Bumblebee has some incredible powers, including plasma canons and radio manipulation. As seen in the first Transformers movie, he can even scan other vehicles and assume their form in seconds. However, despite having a lot of distinct abilities, he does not have knife attachments to his hands. This makes the new Transformers franchise’s Bumblebee significantly different from his Michael Bay counterpart and also gives him an edge in close-range fights. While it would be unfair to draw direct comparisons between the two Bumblebees, Transformers One‘s iteration would likely beat the Bayverse version in a showdown.
