Sizzling hot rumor says the Galaxy S25 Ultra will lose a camera but users won’t miss a thing

At the end of this month, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be only four months old but already we’ve been hearing things about the Galaxy S25 Ultra. We’ve been hearing that the phone could feature three different configurations including 12GB RAM with 256GB of storage and 16GB RAM with 512GB and 16GB RAM with 1TB of storage. This will be the first Galaxy handset to spot 16GB of RAM since the Galaxy S21 Ultra was available with 512GB of storage and 16GB of RAM in 2021.
We also hear that the battery on the Galaxy S25 Ultra will remain the same 5000mAh capacity that has adorned the top-of-the-line Galaxy S model since 2021’s Galaxy S21 Ultra. But the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to have a feature called “Battery AI” that will use artificial intelligence to add an additional 5% to 10% runtime to the life of the battery.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 application processor that will power the phone is reportedly getting a redesign to increase the CPU core speed. This is being done supposedly just to allow the chip to top the benchmark scores of Apple’s A18 and A18 Pro SoCs . Those chipsets will power the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro lines respectively.

Now we have some news about the rear camera setup for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. According to a tweet from @ISAQUES81, Samsung is already testing a Galaxy S25 Ultra prototype and instead of hosting four rear cameras, the device will have just three: a main “primary” camera, a telescopic camera featuring a periscope lens, and an ultra-wide camera. You can say goodbye to the 10MP 3x telescopic camera. Samsung apparently believes that it can use the new “primary” camera to generate 3x optical zoom with the same or improved quality.

While the primary camera on the Galaxy S25 Ultra will have the same resolution and sensor size as the primary camera on the rear of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the newer camera will do a better job at capturing light. For the periscope camera, Samsung is said to be testing variable zoom with two fixed focal lengths. The first focal length will be between 4x and 5x while the second will be between 6x and 7x. It will not have continuous variable zoom technology similar to what you’ll find with the Sony Xperia 1 V. Samsung is testing to determine what the best focal lengths will be. Stay tuned.
