Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) is set to become the victim of a crime in upcoming Coronation Street spoilers.

Bethany has had a rough time in recent weeks, following the return of abuser Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper) to Weatherfield.

With Nathan currently in custody under suspicion of Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) murder, things should be looking up for Bethany – though she is soon hit with another blow.

After successfully redirecting her mail from London, where she lived between 2020 and her return to Manchester earlier this year, Bethany discovers that someone has been fraudulently using her old company credit card.

Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) is quick to advise her to get her hands on copies of the statements, in order to prove that she couldn’t have made the payments.

Desperate to prove her innocence, Bethany seeks legal advice from Joel Deering (Calum Lill), completely unaware of who she’s getting involved with…

It was recently revealed that Joel was Lauren’s killer, in a huge shock twist that nobody saw coming.

Grabbing a screaming Lauren, he threw her to the ground and repeatedly beat her with a blunt instrument in ghastly scenes, though he has since allowed Nathan to take the blame, while acting as his solicitor.

‘It doesn’t affect him,’ actor Calum Lill revealed. ‘I think he can justify everything he’s ever done in his own head. He’s never done anything wrong in his mind. He can justify all of it.

‘Nathan’s a groomer and a rapist and he’s the scum of the earth. But as far as Joel is concerned, he sees himself as someone who helped a girl and then had a sexual relationship and then she pushed his buttons and she got what she had coming in.

‘And his moral compass is absolutely off, he can compartmentalise anything, because Nathan’s done loads wrong it is fine for him to take the rap for this.’

In an even bigger twist, it was revealed that he had paid sex-worker Ellie to lie to Bethany, in order to put Nathan further in the frame for murder, before setting his sights on Bethany.

Could he be set to target her next in a bid to stop h from getting to the truth?

Recently, pictures emerged of actors Calum Lill, Lucy Fallon and Channique Sterling-Brown, who plays Joel’s girlfriend and fellow solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey, all filming on location.

The pictures appeared to show Joel running from an abandoned building, with Bethany and Dee-Dee in the area too.
