Arctic flattens its P8 Slim fan to just 15mm thick

Arctic has released the P8 Slim PWM PST fan targeting small form factor (SFF) chassis. Thanks to its reduced thickness, this fan can fit in tight spaces, ensuring cooling for all components.

P8 Slim is a compact fan measuring 80mm x 80mm x 15mm using Fluid Dynamic Bearings. It can operate between 300 and 3,000rpm, adjusting speeds via PWM (Pulse Width Modulation). This model also features a basic yet effective daisy-chainable cable, powering up to four fans via a single motherboard header. Very handy on SFF (Small Form Factor) motherboards, which tend to feature no more than three PWM connectors.

Arctic mainly aims P8 Slim at compact chassis such as the Fractal Design Ridge, which houses three 80mm placements. After all, it’s nearly half as thick as standard 25mm fans that come bundled with most cases and coolers.

Though small, this fan still promises good performance, with Arctic announcing 22.50cfm of airflow and 2.35mmH2O of static pressure. While the brand didn’t give precise noise measurements for this model, we know that it supports a zero-rpm mode, which should ensure silent operation when idling. Arctis adds that its motor is around 9°C cooler than generic 80mm fans, helping extend the service life.

If you plan on getting one, note that the cable is 400mm long – plus 80mm for the daisy-chainable portion – and that no noise-dampening rubber is included. That said, the brand claims there’s no need for rubber buffering or additional decoupling.

The P8 Slim fan is available on Arctic webshop for €9.99 MSRP and on Amazon US for $7.99, backed by a six-year warranty.
