A beloved BBC morning programme has been taken off air for a month.

First launching in 2020, Morning Live airs weekdays between 9:30am and 10:45am on the national broadcaster’s main channel.

It has a roster of presenters, but is predominately fronted by Michelle Ackerley, Gethin Jones, Kym Marsh and Helen Skelton.

However, viewers will have to wait awhile to see the next episode of the series after the BBC announced the show was going on a summer break.

The news was announced in a series of social media posts.

‘Here’s this week’s Strictly Fitness summer themed workout with Mr Neil Jones,’ the first read.

‘Morning Live is on a break now. Join us on Monday 26th August from 9:30am for more Strictly Fitness.

‘You can do all of the routines from this week in full & see how to do them sat down, on BBC iPlayer.’

However, a follow-up post scared some into thinking Gethin might be leaving the show.

In a video, the host was seen walking around the studio with a glum expression as he sat on the show’s presenting couch, wiped down the empty kitchen, stared into the disused cameras, and turned off the lights in the make-up room as sad music played.

Although it ended with Gethin enthusiastically reassuring viewers they’d be back next month, many were worried at first.

‘Flipping heck, I thought Gethin was leaving then!’ Becky commented on the post.

‘Scared me silly, thought you were going!! Thank goodness you’re not x’ Irene shared.

‘Oh no I was panicking, thought Gethin was saying goodbye. See you back soon,’ Nicola added.

Many others said they would miss their ‘favourite breakfast show’ in the meantime.

Morning Live will temporarily be replaced by reality series Rip Off Britain, which explores instances of UK customers sharing incidents where they believe they’ve been taken advantage of.
