NZXT concentrate 1,500W inside an 80 Plus Platinum PSU

NZXT has added a high-end 1,500W power supply to its roster, rocking the 80 Plus Platinum badge. Fully modular and following the ATX 3.1 standard, this clean-looking box is ready to feed any desktop PC you throw it in.

C1500 Platinum ATX 3.1, as its name implies, is a 1,500W PSU boasting 94% efficiency at 50% load, as indicated by its 80 Plus Platinum rating. It also follows the ATX 3.1 standard, meaning native support for 12V-2×6 cables, each handling up to 600W. Talking of which, this model carries two 12V-2×6 connectors allowing you to power two of Nvidia’s latest and greatest RTX 4090. Note that this PSU will be limited to 1,300W when using a 100-115Vac outlet.

You can even add Intel’s or AMD’s hungriest best CPUs to the mix, and this beast won’t break a sweat. It’ll keep silent and stable thanks to the 140mm Magnetic Levitation Bearing fan and digital voltage regulation. The latter is responsible for the higher efficiency and lower ripple noise.

This combo allowed the C1500 to claim Cybenetics Titanium power efficiency rating alongside an A- regarding noise levels. To improve it even more, you can enable the zero-rpm mode, which turns the fan off under low load rendering it completely silent. All this inside a 180mm long frame.

The C1500 carries one 24-pin for motherboard power, two 12V-2×6 for modern graphics cards mainly from Nvidia, four SATA/Molex for peripherals or drives, plus eight 8-pin cables for regular GPU and CPU power. The latter can be fed by up to two 8-pin, one of which can be split into 4+4-pin. All cables come wrapped in nylon sleeving to improve their look.

While using 105°C Japanese capacitors can be seen as a gauge of quality, NZXT takes things further by offering a ten-year warranty. That’s enough to see this PSU through multiple PCs. That said, like any quality product, the price reflects that as NZXT C1500 retails for £299.99 / $369.99 / €329.90.
