The Umbrella Academy has ended with its fourth season, which answered the biggest questions that previous seasons left while also giving the Hargreeves one final mission to save the universe. The Umbrella Academy season 3 ended with Reginald’s custom timeline becoming a reality and the Hargreeves and Lila (Ritu Arya) not having their powers anymore in this timeline. This led them to part ways and try to live normal lives for the first time.
The Umbrella Academy season 4 has a time jump of six years, revealing how much the lives of all the Hargreeves and Lila changed. Unlike previous seasons, the Hargreeves kept in touch this time, and while most of them were enjoying finally having normal lives, others struggled with their new lifestyles and a monotony they weren’t used to. The Hagreeves were forced to team up once more for a rescue mission that forced them to reach out to their father, and they had to say goodbye to the normal lives they had built.

8 Luther Hargreeves
Luther Had An Unexpected Job
Sloane wasn’t included in Reginald’s new timeline, and Luther had no choice but to move on the best way he could.
Luther (Tom Hopper) was the team’s Number 1 before the events of The Umbrella Academy season 1, and as such, he was fiercely loyal to Reginald. Luther eventually learned why Reginald sent him to the moon, and he struggled with the trauma of this for a while. Luther went through a much-needed change in The Umbrella Academy season 3 when he fell in love with Sloane (Genesis Rodriguez), who he married before the world ended. Unfortunately, Sloane wasn’t included in Reginald’s new timeline, and Luther had no choice but to move on the best way he could.
However, the shadow of Luther’s past was still very present in his new life. The Umbrella Academy season 4 revealed Luther now worked as a dancer at a strip club that had only a couple of customers, though he seemed to have some loyal ones who supported his new art. Luther’s name was “Spaceboy” and he used a spacesuit in his routine, referencing his time on the moon and his codename in the comics. Luther also lived in the abandoned Hargreeves mansion, and he didn’t remarry nor was he in a relationship with anyone.
7 Diego Hargreeves
Diego Needed His Powers For His Job
The Umbrella Academy
season 4 revealed Diego and Lila are now married, with the former working as a delivery guy for a shipping company.
Diego Hargreeves (David Castañeda) was the team’s Number 2, and because of that, he was constantly competing with Luther for the team’s leadership. In The Umbrella Academy season 2, Diego met Lila, The Handler’s (Kate Walsh) adoptive daughter who was also superpowered, and who the Handler tasked with getting close to Diego. Despite learning the truth, Diego and Lila reconnected in season 3 and got back together, and at the end of the season, Lila revealed she was pregnant.
The Umbrella Academy season 4 revealed Diego and Lila are now married, with the former working as a delivery guy for a shipping company. Diego’s power was perfect aim, which he used with knives, and he could also change the trajectory of projectiles in midair. Diego desperately needed his powers in his job as a delivery guy, as he ended up breaking windows and more in his attempt to deliver many packages. Diego and Lila had three children between seasons 3 and 4, but he wasn’t entirely happy with his monotonous life as a father and delivery guy, and he dreamed of working for the CIA.
6 Allison Hargreeves
Allison Had A Similar Life To The One In Her Original Timeline
Allison Hargreeves (Emmy Raver-Lampman) was the Umbrella Academy’s Number 3, but in season 3 she took a dark turn and, by the end of the season, she wasn’t her siblings’ favorite person. Allison made a deal with Reginald, but she killed him at the last minute when she saw that the Hotel Oblivion machine was killing her siblings. Allison finished the timeline reset, and she got what she wanted, but not for long. At the end of The Umbrella Academy season 3, Allison reunited with her daughter, Claire, and she also had her husband from the 1960s, Ray.
Allison made a lot of commercials and TV pilots, but couldn’t replicate her original success.
In the original timeline, Allison was a famous actress who went through a messy divorce, with her ex-husband getting Claire’s custody. In The Umbrella Academy season 4’s timeline, Allison continued her acting career but not with the same success as before. Allison made a lot of commercials and TV pilots, but couldn’t replicate her original success. As for her family, Klaus (Robert Sheehan) mentioned Ray left years before the events of season 4, and Allison struggled with Claire’s attitude sometimes, though it was very clear that they deeply cared for each other.
5 Klaus Hargreeves
Klaus Went Through Big Changes
The loss of his powers left Klaus relieved but paranoid at the same time.
Klaus Hargreeves was the team’s Number 4, as well as the only one in the family with substance use disorder as a result of his powers. Klaus had the power of communicating with and summoning the dead, which caused him a lot of trauma and pain since he was very young. In order to not see and hear dead people, Klaus would take drugs and drink alcohol, and he went to rehab on multiple occasions throughout his life. Klaus also had the power to resurrect himself, making him pretty much immortal.
The loss of his powers left Klaus relieved but paranoid at the same time. For the first time in his life, Klaus was completely sober for years and was enjoying a clean life, but his immortality being taken away from him had a heavy impact on him. Klaus became a germophobe and was very paranoid all the time as he saw a risk in everything. Klaus had been living in Allison’s basement for a long time (where he wrapped the furniture in bubble wrap), and he became very close to Claire.
4 Five Hargreeves
Five Continued Doing What He Did Best
Five had been investigating the Keepers and their belief in a multiverse, as he knew well of the existence of other timelines.
Five Hargreeves (Aidan Gallagher) didn’t change much between seasons 3 and 4 of The Umbrella Academy. Losing his powers didn’t affect Five much after season 3, as he continued to do what he did best: investigating and spying. The Umbrella Academy season 4 makes the audience believe at first that Five had been struggling with being in a new timeline and the potential existence of a multiverse as he attended a support meeting, but in reality, he was working undercover for the CIA.
Five had been investigating the Keepers and their belief in a multiverse, as he knew well of the existence of other timelines, but was curious about how they knew about it. Five had been to other missions before, as mentioned by his assistant, and he kept in touch with his siblings during those six years. Five didn’t have any type of romantic relationship with anyone, and it’s understood he continued to be a solitary guy.
3 Ben Hargreeves
Sparrow Ben Made Some Questionable Decisions
The Umbrella Academy
season 4 revealed Ben had been in jail for four years due to a cryptocurrency scandal.
Ben Hargreeves was Number 6 in the Umbrella Academy and Number 2 in the Sparrow Academy. Umbrella Ben was killed when he was 16 years old, but Sparrow Ben was alive and well in his timeline, though his personality was completely different from that of Umbrella Ben. Sparrow Ben wasn’t fond of the Umbrellas, but he had no other choice than to ask Luther for help. The Umbrella Academy season 4 revealed Ben had been in jail for four years due to a cryptocurrency scandal, and his apartment, money, and all his things were taken by the authorities.
Ben called Luther when he was released from prison because he needed someone with an address, not because he wanted his help. It’s understood that, even though the Umbrellas were aware of what happened to Ben, they didn’t keep in touch with him during his time in prison, but then again, that wouldn’t have been something that Ben would have liked.
2 Viktor Hargreeves
Viktor Tried Hard To Have A Normal Life
Viktor didn’t seem to be affected by his loss of powers at all.
Viktor Hargreeves (Elliot Page) is the team’s Number 7 and its most powerful member thanks to his complex power of sound manipulation. Viktor was the trigger of the apocalypse in The Umbrella Academy seasons 1 and 2, but season 3 focused more on his personal journey and his reconnecting with his siblings after being left aside throughout his childhood and young adult years. Viktor didn’t seem to be affected by his loss of powers at all, and The Umbrella Academy season 4 showed he had been living in Nova Scotia.
Viktor owned a bar there, where he had a couple of regular customers he got along with quite well. Viktor didn’t have the best of luck in his romantic relationships, with a woman breaking up with him at the bar and one of his customers mentioning he had officially been with every woman in town without much luck. Viktor also kept in touch with his siblings, though it’s understood it was thanks to Luther, and he wasn’t enthusiastic about meeting up with them.
1 Lila Pitts
Lila Wasn’t Feeling Good With Her New Life
Lila Pitts wasn’t an official member of the Umbrella Academy, but she became an important part of the family and team. Lila was one of the 43 marigold children, and though she had a normal life, the Handler killed her parents and adopted her to train her as her operative. After learning the truth and following the Handler’s death, Lila left but returned in The Umbrella Academy season 3 to reconnect with Diego, getting back together with him. As mentioned above, at the end of season 3, Lila was pregnant, and season 4 revealed the timeline reset didn’t mess with her pregnancy.
Lila started looking for hobbies and other activities, and she started to infiltrate the meetings of the Keepers under the identity of “Nancy”.
Lila gave birth to Grace and later had twin boys with Diego, and while the latter worked as a delivery guy, it’s understood that Lila was a stay-at-home mother. However, that didn’t quite match Lila’s personality, and while she loved her family, she got bored. Lila started looking for hobbies and other activities, and she started to infiltrate the meetings of the Keepers under the identity of “Nancy”. Lila wasn’t entirely satisfied with her marriage to Diego, suggesting that they took a break, though that didn’t mean she didn’t love him.
