This article contains spoilers for tonight’s EastEnders, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.

Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) recently suffered a terrifying ordeal that almost saw her lose her life.

The Queen Vic landlady ended up choking after being plied with alcohol by Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris), who was desperate to extract a confession from Linda regarding brother Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) murder.

Bernie has been on a mission to find out what really happened to her brother, and has come to the conclusion that the real culprit was Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean). Little does she know, it was actually Linda who stabbed Keanu to death.

When Linda returned from hospital, Sharon quizzed Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) on what had happened, and he revealed what Bernie had done.

Sharon wasted no time in confronting her at the cafe about the consequences of her actions – but Bernie gave back as good as she got.

She was quick to point out how much she was struggling with Keanu’s death, the trial going nowhere and now the fact that she was losing her house, and yelled that she wasn’t going to take abuse from Sharon as well.

At a loss, Sharon turned to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) for advice.

She explained how out of character Bernie was acting, before suggesting that she take her in while she’s grieving, so she could keep an eye on her and stop her from suspecting anything.

However, Phil warned her against having Bernie move in, insisting that it was just asking for trouble. Instead, he told her to keep an eye on her and keep things friendly.

When Sharon later went to apologise to Bernie, she found her in the middle of trying to solve her housing crisis.

Sharon was quick to offer a solution, pointing out that flat 3a was available and promising to pay the first few months rent until Bernie got back on her feet.

When Bernie quizzed Sharon on why she was willing to help, Sharon revealed that she was doing it for Keanu.

Though Bernie accepted the offer, it was clear that she was still suspicious of Sharon, and her actions made her look even more guilty.

Will Bernie continue to dig for information, and discover what really happened to Keanu? Or has Sharon succeeded in keeping Linda off her radar?
