Gamescom 2024 is underway and be quiet! has taken the opportunity to launch its new Pure Base 501 PC case at the event. Hardware of all prices has the right to live in a well-built case, and this series aims to offer all you need for a cost-conscious computer.
be quiet! will offer five different versions of Pure Base 501. Each share the same structure and hardware compatibility, but have different front and side panel materials. The base unit features an all-closed design while ‘Airflow’ switches to a mesh front, and ‘Airflow Window’ includes a glass side too. The latter two are available in black or white.
Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, Pure Base 500, this stealthy box should make for a simple but effective chassis. It can house ATX, micro-ATX, or Mini-ITX motherboards, with room for up to 360mm radiators. The case even supports vertical graphic card installation, if you fancy it. Better still, Pure Base 501 comes equipped with two be quiet! Pure Wings 3 140mm fans attached to the front and rear.
For those still rocking mechanical hard drives, Pure Base 501 includes an optional HDD cage. Finally, for front I/O, be quiet! serves up a single USB Type-C port, two USB Type-A ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack input. While some may bemoan the lack of RGB here, we appreciate a stealthy alternative.

I’m curious to see how Pure Base 501 measures up against the 500 series, let alone the stiff competition it faces from a crowded market. That’s not forgetting be quiet!’s other offerings too, such as Light Base 900 FX. Both will feature the company’s renowned quality and silence, but the latter has me wanting to put together a wall-mounted build.
