A new Hollyoaks trailer is packed full of huge spoilers as the Channel 4 soap gears up for a week of stunts that will change the future of the show forever.
Hollyoaks is set to jump a year into the future this September, as the show switches to three weekly episodes as part of a change of format, but before that viewers can expect a high-stakes drama, as the new trailer shows.
A number of characters are front and centre of the trailer – unsurprising given the huge storylines they are currently involved in.
One such character is Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe), who recently gave birth to twins. In a first for a UK soap, Mercedes’ twins had different dads, after she slept with both Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) and Felix Westwood (Richard Blackwood).
With Richard Blackwood having confirmed that he won’t be returning to the show as Felix, and Warren set to depart the show in dramatic fashion, it is no wonder that Mercedes is the one asking if life will ever be the same again.
Elsewhere, Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) has been desperate to reunite with husband James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) following their split as a result of Ste’s infidelity.
With both featuring in the trailer, could they be set to get caught up in the stunt? Will they fix their relationship or be torn apart?
The screams for help as the trailer reaches a dramatic climax are unmistakeable as Frankie Dean (Isabelle Smith) – is her life in danger on top of everything she has already been through? Or has she witnessed something devastating?
How many characters are set to be endangered during the dramatic stunt, and how many will come out alive? We can confirm that it won’t be everyone…
Speaking to Metro.co.uk last month, producer Hannah Cheers revealed what fans can expect from the stunt and the subsequent time jump.
