The Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed, Sunday announced the appointment of Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya, the eldest son of the late emir as the 17th emir of Ningi with a 1st class status.
Presenting the appointment letter to the new emir at the Ningi Emirate palace, the secretary to the state government, Ibrahim Mohammed Kashim, said the decision is in exercising the powers conferred on the governor by the laws of Bauchi state of Nigeria (Appointment of Emirs / Chiefs and Deposition 1991) and the recommendation of the kingmakers.
Barrister Ibrahim Kashim noted that the state government is confident in the new emir’s ability to continue the legacy of his late father in fostering unity, peace, and development in the Ningi Emirate and Bauchi state in general.
The SSG assured that the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed is committed to supporting the traditional institutions in the state as they play a crucial role in maintaining peace and progress in communities.
