It may still be summer, but as Autumn races on we’re already thinking about when time rolls on to September – and investing in some essentials to embrace the cosy season.
Autumn brings open fires, dinner by candlelight and all things pumpkin-spiced – it’s quite possibly the most atmospheric season of all.
If you’re looking to get in the mood for the new season and want to dip your toe into an autumn mood, fragrance is the way to go, whether that’s a spritz of new perfume or a new scented candle or room spray.
There’s no denying the power of fragrance. Almost four in five Brits (78%) say that they are conscious about their home scent and the impression it creates for visitors, whilst over two-thirds (70%) of people say that they notice scent when entering people’s homes, according to stats from NEXT.
So what should we look for when selecting a new scent? “When it comes to choosing a scent for your home, looking at the individual notes within the product is key. It’s particularly important to find base notes that you love,’ a home fragrance expert at NEXT explains.
‘These are the notes that will last the longest and you will find that they linger in your home. These tend to be deep, rich scents – often woody or oud.’
