Yobe state governor Mai Mala Buni has on Wednesday chaired a security meeting with members of Yobe State Security Council.
The meeting attended by the heads of security formations in the state took place at the Council Chambers of Government House Damaturu.
Briefing journalists shortly after the meeting, adviser to Buni on security matters, Brig.General Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd.) said, the meeting discussed intensively on the recent security breaches recorded in Mafa,Buni-Yadi and Geidam.
General Abdulsalam stated that the security agencies have also been urged and directed to redouble their efforts, staretegies to ensure that there is peace, security and stability within the state.
“Governor Buni paid a visit to the Chief of defence staff after the incident of Mafa where he discussed well ranging security issues affecting Yobe state.He has been assured of the full support of the Nigerian arms forces both land and air component and on his way also to visit head of other security agencies in the country for improve synergy and cooperation within the state,” he said.
He revealed that the important of security in the state need cannot be over emphasized as it affects everybody.
“Thankfully the situation has stabilized except for the few unfortunate occurrences,” he said.
He urged the media to always put forward accurate information and avoid sectionalism adding he is always available to clarify issues when the need arise in the state
