Bruce Willis looked calm as he enjoyed a rare public outing, after his ex-wife Demi Moore shared a heart-breaking update on his condition.

The Die Hard actor, 69, enjoyed a quick nap during a peaceful drive with a friend in Los Angeles.

It comes days after the Hollywood icon took a similar cruise around and was pictured peering into the car’s wing mirror.

The Sixth Sense star was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) in 2023, after retiring from acting the previous year, due to aphasia.

Following his diagnosis, he took a step back from the spotlight to concentrate on his health, with his loved ones offering updates such as The Substance star Demi as well as his Emma Heming Willis.

The Ghost actor – who shares daughters Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30, with the Moonlighting star – explained he is in a ‘stable place’ during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.

‘I think he’s doing, you know, given the givens, he is in a stable place,’ she told the host.

‘You know, it’s what I say to my kids is you meet them where they’re at. You don’t hold on to who they were or what you want them to be, but who they are in this moment.

‘And from that, there is such beauty and joy and loving and sweetness. When I’m in LA, I go over every week, and I really treasure the time that we all share.’

The couple split in 1998, with Bruce going on to wed Emma in 2009 before welcoming daughters Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10.

She took to Instagram to criticise ‘clickbait’ headlines that misrepresent her husband’s day-to-day life.

‘It’s Sunday morning and I’m triggered. I just got clickbaited. I’m just scrolling, minding my own business, and just saw a headline – and got clickbaited – that had to do with my own family,’ she said.

‘The headline basically there is no more joy in my husband. Now I can just tell you that is far from the truth. I need society, and whoever is writing these stupid headlines, to stop scaring people.’

She continued: ‘[People will think] once they get a diagnosis of some kind of neuro-cognitive disease that that’s it, it’s over. Let’s pack it up. Nothing else to see here. We’re done. No, it is the complete opposite.’

Months later, Rumer shared a tear-jerking photo of Bruce beaming from ear to ear as he cradled his one-year-old granddaughter Louetta.
