Appeal Court Constitutes Petition Tribunal 72 Hours To Election

Less than 72 hours to the Edo State Governorship election, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, the president of the Appeal Court has constituted an Election Petition Tribunal.

DAILY POST reports that Justice Dongban-Mensem disclosed this in a statement issued by the secretary of the tribunal, Mua’azu Ibrahim Bagudu.

She said the constitution of the tribunal was in line with the provisions of section 285 (1) and (2) of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as Amended), and paragraph 133 (3b) of the Electoral Act 2022.

She noted that the Secretariat and Registry of the tribunal is open to the public and is located at the High Court of Justice complex in Benin City, Edo State capital.

The Judge, however, advised anyone wishing to file an Election Petition or for further inquiry to contact the secretary of the tribunal.
