Jigawa Donates N250m To Maiduguri Flood Victims 


The Jigawa state governor, Mallam Umar Namadi, in a gesture of support weekend announced the donation of N250 million to assist the victims of flood disaster in Maiduguri, Borno state capital.

Namadi led a high-powered delegation to Maiduguri to express solidarity and sympathy with the government and people of Borno state following the devastating flood disaster that ravaged and destroyed several lives and properties.

This was contained in a press release made available to our reporter Sunday by the chief press secretary to Governor Namadi, Mr Mohammed Hamisu Gumel.

“Governor Namadi has extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the people of Jigawa state to the government and people of Borno for the tragic loss of lives and the widespread destruction of properties,

“Governor Namadi offered prayers for the souls of those who lost their lives and prayed for the Almighty Allah to grant them eternal rest and for the swift recovery of those injured in the disaster,” he said.

The release said while responding, Borno state governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, expressed his gratitude to Governor Namadi and his delegation for the visit of solidarity and the generous donation.
