The universe of Reacher on Amazon Prime Video is set to expand with the announcement of a spinoff called Neagley, which will center on the fan-favorite character. First introduced in season 1 of Reacher (based on the Lee Child novel The Killing Floor), Frances Neagley is an army vet who is a crucial ally to the eponymous character as he calls on her expertise to help with missions. She would return in season 2 and take on a much larger role, thus cementing herself as a key figure in the popular Prime Video series.
Interestingly, Neagley was not a part of Childs’ The Killing Floor, and actually debuted in Bad Luck and Trouble (the novel season 2 is based on). Now, the popular character will be the focus of her own series, and Maria Sten is set to return to the role. The Spinoff Scores A Green Light
Just a month or so after the first rumblings of the spinoff were announced, the latest news confirms that Neagley has scored a green light at Prime Video. Though there was little doubt that the development would come to fruition, Amazon Prime Video officially ordered Neagley to series. However, a release timeline remains elusive for the tentatively titled series. Along with the green light, Prime Video also revealed a few more story details, including that the story will follow Neagley as she investigates the mysterious death of a close friend.

Even as work continues on Reacher‘s third season, it was announced in September 2024 that a spinoff was in the works centering on Neagley. Tentatively titled Neagley, the series will zero-in on the fan-favorite character, and will presumably flesh out her story. Maria Sten is slated to reprise her role as the security expert, and Reacher showrunner Nick Santora will team up with Prison Break‘s Nicholas Wotton to co-showrun the new series.
The showrunning duo will be joined by author Lee Child as an executive producer, and Skydance Television will be in charge of the production end of things. Less than a month after development on the spinoff was announced, Neagley scored a series order from Amazon Prime Video, suggesting that the streamer is eager to get the spinoff to air as quickly as possible.
