Australian Neighbours broadcaster Network 10 have caused confusion amongst viewers by reversing their decision to drop one episode per week.

It was announced earlier this month that the soap opera would only air Monday to Wednesday in its home country, meaning that UK viewers would soon creep ahead.

This was confirmed in a statement by a 10 spokesperson: ‘From Monday, 14 October through to Wednesday, 18 December, Neighbours will air three times a week (Monday to Wednesday at 4.00pm on 10 and 10 Play and 6:30pm on 10 Peach Comedy).’

‘In 2025, your favourite Ramsay Street residents will return to screens four times a week from Monday to Thursday’

Fans of the show will undoubtedly remember the many years they had to use #UKPace and #AUSPace hashtags on social media, to prevent spoilers leaking for whichever country was out of sync at the time.

It’s not known why the Network planned to reduce Neighbours’ output, but Metro understands that UK streamer Amazon Freevee/Prime Video had planned a two week break at Christmas to allow Australian viewers to catch up.

However, this will no longer be required – Neighbours will continue to air four times a week on 10 and 10 Peach Comedy.

This is reportedly due to ‘audience feedback, many of whom were not in favour of the plan’, a source told TVTonight.

Many of Neighbours’ loyal fan base are on tenterhooks awaiting news of a recommission.

400 episodes were reportedly ordered by Amazon in 2022, after the then-British broadcaster Channel 5 decided to pull funding. These instalments subsequently began airing last year.
