Two teenage boys died in separate freak accidents at Halloween haunted hayrides a day apart.

The tragic incidents were eerily similar, both involving tractor-pulled hayrides.

On Friday night, Samuel Jessen, 13, was with a group of juveniles playing close to the hayride at the Haunted Hilltop Halloween event in Harrison, Tennessee.

They were ‘behind some bushes trying to scare some hay riders at the Haunted Hilltop Halloween event’, a chaperone told the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

‘One of the juveniles had attempted to jump on the trailer and had possibly slipped and fallen underneath the wheels and was found unresponsive,’ stated the sheriff’s office on Facebook.

Deputies responded to a call reporting a juvenile struck by a tractor around 10.45pm. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Law enforcement officials are investigating the incident and said they would not be releasing further information because it involved a juvenile.

‘The HCSO family extends our thoughts and sympathy to the family of the deceased juvenile, as well as the others who witnessed the tragic event,’ stated the agency.

‘We ask the community also keep this family in their prayers during this difficult time.’

A GoFundMe page identified the victim and stated that ‘Sam was so full of life, and this is a devastating loss for his family and community’.

It had raised more than $34,000 as of Tuesday afternoon.

Less than 24 hours after Samuel died, a 13-year-old boy was run over by a trolley wagon pulled by a tractor at the annual Harvest of Horror Haunted Hayride in St Augusta, Minnesota.

Event workers and bystanders including an off-duty medic and off-duty cop performed lifesaving measures shortly after 7.30pm on Saturday, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
