Tom Hardy has made it clear that he wants to fight Marvel’s Spider-Man even after Venom: The Last Dance. Hardy is the biggest star in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. While that shared universe has seen its fair share of issues, the Venom franchise stands as the most successful of the bunch. Leading Venom: The Last Dance‘s cast might be the last thing Hardy ever does in the SSU, as the project is his final Venom solo movie.
At New York Comic Con, where Screen Rant was in attendance, Tom Hardy talked about his desire to fight Spider-Man even though Venom: The Last Dance is the final Venom movie. While trailers have teased that Venom: The Last Dance‘s story could end with the death of Eddie Brock or his symbiote companion, Hardy continues to hope that his path will cross with Spider-Man’s in the future, saying, “I would like to fight him right now.” Whether that could happen in the SSU or an upcoming MCU movie is unknown, though Hardy “would never say never.” Check out the full quote below:
I would like to fight Spider-Man. I would like to fight him right now. In a movie, 100%. I would never say never.
The Marvel Characters Have To Battle At Some Point
Tom Hardy has made it clear multiple times that Venom: The Last Dance, as its name suggests, will be his final time leading a movie as the character. However, there are many ways that could be true while also allowing Hardy to come back as Eddie Brock again to fight Tom Holland’s Spider-Man or another version of the wall-crawler. Hardy wants to fight Spider-Man and is not closing the door on that, even with his Venom trilogy ending. Based on the fans’ demand for that fight and how Hardy wants it to happen, Venom’s chances of fighting Spider-Man are looking good.

8 Ways Peter Parker Could Appear In Venom 3
With only one Venom movie left with The Last Dance, it’s the last opportunity for Sony Pictures to feature some version of Peter Parker’s Spider-Man.
Hardy is not alone in that desire, as Tom Holland said in 2016 that he would also like to fight Venom. Speaking with Screen Rant on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Holland talked about his love for Doc Ock, who he has since fought in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, then touched on Venom, saying, “I think Venom is someone I’d love to kick the crap out of one day.” With both the SSU’s main star and the likely new face of the MCU wanting the fight to happen, it would be shocking if Venom and Spider-Man did not battle.
The Venom Actor Wants It As Much As The Fans
Every time he is asked this question, Hardy is always ready to speak about how much he wants to see Venom and Spider-Man fight. I believe that after the success of the Venom movies and Hardy’s Eddie Brock having briefly jumped over to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that opportunity is too good to pass on. Be it in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4, Avengers: Secret Wars, or a King in Black movie with Spider-Verse characters fighting Knull, there are plenty of ways to get Hardy and Holland’s Marvel characters to fight one another after Venom: The Last Dance.
Venom 3 is the third and final installment in Sony’s symbiote trilogy starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock. It follows the events of Let There Be Carnage, where the anti-hero fought serial killer Cletus Kasady, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Brock was briefly transported to the MCU through the multiverse.
