The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has identified the fault responsible for the power outage affecting parts of the North East, North West, and North Central regions.
The fault was found on the Ugwuaji-Apir 330kV transmission line in Igumale, Benue State.
In a statement, Tuesday, TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, said the fault was due to a snapped transmission line in a swampy forest area.
According to Mbah, “repairs will begin tomorrow, with equipment being mobilized from TCN’s Enugu regional office.”
The fault, which had tripped the 215km transmission line on Monday, caused widespread outages.
While stating that TCN is deploying a bulldozer and other materials to the site to expedite repairs and restore power, Mbah noted that earlier attempts to locate the issue were unsuccessful until Tuesday evening.
