The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Christopher Musa has called for a holistic approach to end insecurity in the country.
The CDS made this call on Monday while speaking at the Northern Governors forum meeting in Kaduna State.
The 19 Northern Governors had converged in Kaduna alongside traditional rulers from the North led by the Sultan of Sokoto and other critical stakeholders to deliberate on issues affecting the region.
Giving his remarks, the CDS advocated the need for collaboration between the government, community, and traditional and religious leaders is essential in fighting insecurity.
The CDS maintained that the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) is ready to support actions and initiatives concluded by the governors, and other stakeholders present at the meeting.
He added that the newly formed theatre Command of Operation FASSAN YAMMA will further strengthen the AFN resolve to bring lasting peace to the region and nation at large.
The Defence Chief also recalled that the recently launched Presidential livestock programme will provide a transformative opportunity to bolster the agricultural sector, particularly in the context of livestock production.
He added that the initiative not only holds the potential to enhance food security but also to drive economic growth and create a sustainable livelihood for our citizens.
