What Christopher Nolan Using New IMAX Technology Means For His Next Movie

It Continues A Career Trend

With Christopher Nolan using new IMAX filming equipment, the director will continue to pioneer the technology, as he has consistently done throughout his career. In 2008, The Dark Knight was the first major motion picture to be shot with high-resolution IMAX cameras, technology that was previously reserved for documentaries. Warner Bros. was hesitant to approve the use of IMAX cameras because they were large, unwieldy, and expensive, though Nolan insisted they were necessary to convey the expanded scope and scale of The Dark Knight.
