Don Jazzy isn’t the only celebrity clamoring for DNA. In May, media personality Do2dtun advocated for DNA tests to be done on children immediately after they were born. He stated that the same way a test is carried out when a child is born, it should be the same with DNA. He noted how people see DNA as scary because it is been seen as a borderline mishap for trust, but for him, it’s best to know in the beginning and now.
Actor, Rotimi Salami had made a strong case for paternity fraud, advocating that it should be criminalized like rape. He likened the pain and trauma a woman experiences when raped to that of a man when he finds out the child he has been raising is another man’s child.
Meanwhile, veteran actor and filmmaker, Ugezu J Ugezu had kicked against the need for DNA, as he chastised men who have formed the habit of undergoing paternity tests before claiming a child. He opined that DNA stuff is tearing many homes apart and destroying innocent children as any child born to an African man is an African man’s child.
