The new Christmas-themed action movie Red One features an awesome soundtrack to support its stacked cast of A-list stars. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Chris Evans lead Red One’s cast, playing a pair of mismatched heroes on a mission to save Christmas when Santa Claus (J.K. Simmons) is kidnapped. In the spirit of the holiday season and many of the best Christmas movies of all time, Red One’s soundtrack is composed primarily of Christmas season hits, including classics and modern releases.
The majority of Red One’s music comes from its epic score, composed by Henry Jackman (Captain America: Civil War), which contributes to the action and adventure. However, under the mask of action stars like The Rock and Chris Evans, Red One’s ending proves that it’s a spirited holiday movie, which can only be done properly with classics from the likes of Dean Martin and Mariah Carey. Their songs fill cheery holiday scenes at toy stores and malls. Red One also features an original song from the popular singer, Laufey.

When Every Song On The Red One Soundtrack Plays In The Movie
Red One Features 7 Soundtrack Songs
“Here Comes Santa Claus” by Ray Conniff: Red One opens with a classic song by Ray Conniff, establishing the holiday spirit of the film instantly. The movie’s opening scene shows a young boy spoiling the secret that Santa isn’t real to his cousins, resulting in him being reprimanded by an adult. “Here Comes Santa Claus” begins playing before the movie’s opening shot, framing the blockbuster as a hearty Christmas classic.
“Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” by Mariah Carey: Audiences are introduced to J.K. Simmons’ Santa Claus and The Rock’s character, Callum Drift, at a scene at a shopping mall. The classic Mariah Carey Christmas song is playing in the background as the scene shifts to the mall and continues as Callum examines the scene, searching for any potential threats to Santa Claus.
“Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!” by Dean Martin: After the initial introduction scene where Callum keeps a social media influencer away from Santa Claus, the movie cuts to Callum and Santa walking around the shopping mall. Dean Martin’s classic can be heard in the background, playing in the mall as they walk around. During this scene, a man at a food stand throws something at Santa, which Callum catches.
“Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms: After Jack picks up his son, they drive around talking for a while. As Jack is offering the child some of the worst live advice a parent could give, they pull up to a churro stand where “Jingle Bell Rock” is playing in the background. This is another quintessential Christmas classic, but it’s very faint in the movie.

Dwayne Johnson Says Watching Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer Convinced Him To Make Red One For Imax Theaters
Red One has not been receiving the strongest reviews, but its IMAX release was surprisingly inspired by Christopher Nolan’s acclaimed Oppenheimer.
“Christmas Magic” by Laufey: After the beach fight scene with the snowmen, the villain’s plan kicks off. An insufferable seeming man (clearly on the naughty list) is walking to his car while being obnoxious on a phone. In his car, he finds a box with the mysterious snow globe item, resulting in him disappearing. “Christmas Magic” is an original song by Laufey made for Red One’s soundtrack.
“Winterwunderland” by Roland Kaiser: Throughout the film, Callum and Jack use portals in toy stores to travel around the world quickly. At one point, they travel to a toy store in Germany, where Germand singer Roland Kaiser’s version of “Winter Wonderland” is playing in the background. This is a 2021 rendition of the classic Christmas song and can only be heard faintly in the film.
“Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town” by Mariah Carey: Red One’s credits roll to another Christmas classic from Mariah Carey. The song begins playing after Jack asks if they’ve just saved Christmas, and he, his son, Callum, and Santa Claus ride the slay into the clouds, celebrating their victory. “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town” is a classic, perfectly fitting as the athletic version of Santa in Red One has just done his route for the year.
