Tesco has partnered again with popular Japaneseinspired restaurant chain Wagamama to add some new items to their range.

Not one but two new sauces and a meal kit have just been added to the lineup, so you can experience the flavours of your favourite Asian cuisine from the comfort of your own home.

The first is the Wagamama Katsu Vegan Mayo, made with soy sauce, ginger and spices, and it has a medium chilli rating, so you know it’ll have a healthy kick.

Tesco shared a chef’s tip for using the sauce, saying: ‘Stir through shredded cooked chicken to make a tasty sandwich filler. Drizzle over your favourite fries or a fresh salad.’

Both priced at £2.25, there’s also the Wagamama Vegan Firecracker Mayo with a chilli rating of hot, meaning it’s going to be pretty spicy.

Made with chilli pepper, garlic and ginger, it can also be drizzled over your lunchtime sandwich or favourite salad.

The sauces caused a stir on TikTok, with one video showing the new releases in the Tesco aisle reaching nearly 120,000 views.

For something more substantial look to the new meal kit that’s been added – the Pad Thai for two.

At just £3.50, the kit comes with a stir fry sauce made of soy cause and tamarind, which comes with rice noodles, fried onions and a garnish of chilli and chives.

With a sweet and sour taste it’s only got a mild chilli rating, so if you struggle to take the heat then this one’s for you.

It joins the other meal kits that are already Tesco favourites which include the Chicken Ramen and classic Kastu Curry – which have left customers pretty happy.

‘My absolute favourite meal kit. So easy to make and provides the real Wagamama experience at home – delicious,’ wrote one.

‘This is superb and so easy to cook. Well done Wagamama, it just tastes like the restaurant,’ added another.

A Tesco spokesperson tells Metro: ‘We have recently introduced some new Wagamama lines to our existing range including Wagamama Katsu Vegan Mayo and the Wagamama Pad Thai Meal Kit.

‘For those who want to enjoy the taste of Wagamama at home we currently have a range of Wagamama stir fry sauces for just £1 with a Tesco Clubcard thanks to Tesco Clubcard Prices.’

The Asian restaurant has long-since been a favourite with consumers with many leaving rave reviews of its offerings.

The food has been branded ‘piping hot and rich in flavour’ as well as ‘delicious’ and ‘fresh’, so what are you waiting for? Go and try the new additions to the range if you’re tempted.

This isn’t all that’s new in Tesco, as just last month the supermarket launched it’s Christmas meal deal range, with four fan favourites returning to the aisles.

Whether you’re craving a traditional turkey sandwich or seeking a veggie treat with a holiday twist, Tesco’s new festive lineup has you covered, with a main, snack and drink priced at £3.60 for Clubcard members or £4 for those without.

Among the new additions are an array of wraps and sandwiches, including the Christmas Cracking Currywurst Sub, which is described as ‘hearty nod to German Christmas markets’. Expect juicy pork sausage, smoky caramelised onions and tangy curry ketchup, all wrapped up in an egg-glazed roll.

The food retailer also caused a stir when a ‘retro’ Tunis Cake hit the shelves, being sold for £10 and made by the brand Say it with Cake.

For those who’ve never tried one, a Tunis Cake is an alternative to Christmas fruit cake and features madeira sponge with a thick layer of chocolate on top. The whole thing is then decorated with vanilla frosting and brightly coloured marzipan fruit.

Tragically, since the 80s the cake has rarely been spotted on supermarket shelves, other than the occasional appearance seasonally. So it’s no surprise that many were excited by its return.
