Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Smile 2!
Smile 2 features a lot of narrative beats, and while the film is mostly tight, it never resolved a major storyline that even Skye Riley had a question about. The various twists and turns of Smile 2 cause viewers to constantly reassess what they’re being told, with the effects of the Smile Curse causing Skye Riley to be an unreliable narrator. However, one storyline is left completely unanswered by the end of Smile 2, with none of the twists or turns addressing this issue.
Smile 2 continues the story of the original Smile in an all-new way, with the film focusing on a new character named Skye Riley. After having gotten the Smile Curse from a drug dealer, Skye has to deal with the horrific events that haunt her while still balancing her career as a world-famous pop star. Despite constantly getting caught up in violence, visions, and lies, Skye manages to cover her tracks fairly well, with the exception of one major incident.
Smile 2 Never Reveals If Skye’s Vomit Is Discovered At Lewis’ Death Scene
Even Though She Left It There
The Smile Curse passes on to its next victim if someone with the Smile Curse dies in front of them, with the Smile Entity causing its victims to end their own lives in order to spread. This happens to Skye Riley early in the events of Smile 2, with a drug dealer named Lewis bashing his head in with a weight in front of Skye.

Skye’s Vomit Would’ve Made Her A Suspect In Lewis’ Death
Meaning That The Police Would Be After Her
After leaving Lewis’ death scene, Skye Riley searches on Google, attempting to see if vomit contains DNA. Vomit does in fact contain DNA, and since the authorities wouldn’t believe that Lewis bashed his own skull in, the fact that Skye left some at his apartment would make her a major suspect.

Despite Smile 2 setting this up as a major storyline, the investigation of Lewis’ death is never brought back up, with the film being more focused on Skye’s experience with the Smile Entity. The authorities surely would have seen the pile of vomit that was left at Lewis’ death scene, but it is possible that they didn’t track her down before Skye Riley’s own death at the end of Smile 2.
