The husband whose wife was killed by a drunk driver on the night of their wedding has revealed her heartbreaking last words before she lost her life.
Aric Hutchinson sobbed in court as he recounted what the bride, Samantha Miller, 34, said to him moments before their golf cart was struck by a reckless driver.
‘On the golf cart, she told me she didn’t want the night to end,’ said Hutchinson.
‘And I kissed her on the forehead and then the next thing I remember is waking up in the hospital.’
Miller was still wearing her wedding dress when Jamie Lee Komoroski, 27, plowed into their golf cart on a Folly Beach road going at 65mph.
Komoroski pleaded guilty to felony DUI causing death, reckless homicide and two counts of felony DUI causing great bodily injury. She was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Monday for the April 2023 crash in South Carolina.
She said she was ‘devastated, deeply ashamed and sorry’ for the bad decisions and her actions.
‘I wish I could go back and undo this terrible tragedy. But I cannot,’ said Komoroski.
‘I will live the rest of my life with intense regret for what happened that night.’
Hutchinson filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Komoroski in May 2023.
