Eamonn Holmes is said to have ‘no hard feelings’ after his ex Ruth Langsford unexpectedly flew out to Australia for I’m A Celebrity.
The Loose Women star, 63, travelled across the world to support her co-panellist Jane Moore, who became the first eliminated campmate.
Though Ruth didn’t greet Jane at the bridge, she has shared some behind-the-scenes snaps on Instagram, and appeared on spin-off show Unpacked.
Previous reports had claimed that Eamonn was fuming over Ruth overcoming her fear of flying and travelling halfway around the world, though a source has now denied this.
An insider told MailOnline: ‘It’s all nonsense. He’s living his life and there are no hard feelings. He’s never flown into a rage and it’s just laughable that he would.’
A source had previously claimed: ‘Eamonn is seething about Ruth going to the jungle as she never wanted to go away with him. She told him she hated flying!
‘He’d always dreamed of taking her on some special trips, places they could explore and enjoy together, but every time he suggested it, she shot the idea down.
‘Now, all of a sudden, she’s more than happy to hop on a plane for 22 hours each way to the other side of the world!’
The insider had added to The Sun: ‘It’s left him feeling completely baffled and a bit hurt, to be honest.
‘It’s rubbed him up the wrong way because it feels like she’s willing to do it for the show but not for him.’
Eamonn had previously revealed Ruth’s fear of flying, cheekily suggesting she only boards planes if she’s had some alcohol.
‘Ruthie does not like aeroplanes, that is not an easy task,’ he said on This Morning in 2019.
‘I’m not completely phobic, but a lot of people will be like that where they feel uncomfortable,’ she replied. ‘For others it really does stand in their way of travelling.’
He added: ‘Ruth has the perfect solution. She drinks to forget.
‘She drinks before the flight, she drinks during the flight and she drinks after the flight. It helps her forget.’
‘It’s a little Dutch courage,’ Ruth laughed, quipping: ‘You’re not doing my PR any good this morning, are you?’
While Ruth has jetted to the other side of the world, Eamonn, 64, has instead been spending time with his new partner Katie Alexander.
In the months following the split, the GB News presenter and counsellor have gone on a luxury Mediterranean cruise, with those close to the couple saying they’re very happy together.
A source had previously claimed that Strictly Come Dancing star Ruth was heading Down Under after a ‘tough year’, and was ‘thrilled’ to appear on I’m A Celebrity spin-off Unpacked.
They told The Sun: ‘It’s been a tough year for Ruth and she’s been putting her best foot forward, she’s thrilled to have been asked to appear on this the spin off show and fly to Australia ahead of Christmas.
‘She’s rooting for Jane and can’t wait to give her opinion on how she is getting on.
‘The production team are particularly excited they have landed Ruth to join them as they think she’ll be amazing and give the new format a boost.’
Ruth has faced a difficult year after her shock split from Eamonn following 14 years of marriage, with reports at the time stating work commitments had resulted in them drifting in ‘different directions’.
They’ve since said very little on their marriage coming to an end, though Ruth did previously take a cheeky swipe at her ex on Loose Women.
She later said that it’s been a ‘tricky time’ going through the split in the public eye, and it had been claimed she’d hired a ‘fierce’ divorce lawyer.
Metro has approached Eamonn’s reps for comment.
I’m A Celebrity continues at 9pm on ITV1.
