Wolves forward Matheus Cunha is facing a potential Premier League ban after clashing with a member of Ipswich Town’s staff on Saturday.
Gary O’Neil’s side were beaten 2-1 at Molineux following Jack Taylor’s winning goal for Ipswich in the fourth minute of injury time.
An own goal from Matt Doherty put Ipswich in front after 15 minutes before Cunha equalised in the second half.
Wolves also had Rayan Ait-Nouri sent off in injury time and the defender had to be dragged away from confronting Ipswich’s players by his own teammate Craig Dawson following his dismissal.
Tempers flared again after the full-time whistle and Cunha could now face punishment from the Football Association after he was seen pushing an Ipswich Town staff member in the face, which knocked off his glasses.
Former Premier League referee, Mike Dean, believes Cunha will now be ‘in trouble’ with the FA over the incident.
‘Going back to the suspension. Cunha, the biggest player that they’ve got. I’ve watched the footage back afterwards,’ Dean told Sky Sports.
‘He elbows the back of the head of one of the Ipswich coaches. Then he pulls his glasses off and throws them to the pitch.
‘For me, I think he’ll be in trouble with the FA.’
The defeat leaves Wolves 19th in the Premier League and four points adrift of safety.
