A Major Character Death & 8 Other Reveals

Warning! This article contains spoilers for Agatha All Along episode 7.

Agatha All Along episode 7 is chock-full of story reveals as its predecessor was, this time linked primarily to the character of Lilia Calderu. As has been the case with the MCU’s Witches’ Road in previous installments, Agatha All Along episode 7 provided another trial for the coven to overcome. By the time of Agatha All Along episode 7’s ending, it became clear which member of the coven this specific trial belonged to.

The trial involved a real-life spiritual practice: Tarot Card reading. This coincided with further questions about Billy Maximoff after Agatha All Along episode 6’s ending teased his search for his brother, Tommy. Above all else, Agatha All Along‘s cast was altered even further due to major character deaths, hints at untold power for others, and the massive story reveal that links to Rio Vidal’s true identity.

9 Lilia Calderu Sacrifices Herself To Save Her Coven

Lilia’s Story Ends In Agatha All Along Episode 7

One of the more shocking elements of Agatha All Along thus far has been the show’s willingness to unceremoniously kill off characters. This began with the untimely death of Mrs. Hart/Sharon Davis in episode 3 and was followed by Alice Wu-Gulliver’s shocking demise in Agatha All Along episode 5. Although episode 6 teased the possibility that Jennifer Kale and Lilia Calderu were dead also, Agatha All Along episode 7 revealed that they both survived Billy Maximoff’s magical outburst.

That said, Lilia Calderu did not make it out of Agatha All Along episode 7. As the episode focused on her trial on The Witches’ Road, it ended with her sacrifice. After fitting the puzzle pieces of her endless flashes of the future, past, and present together, Lilia accepted the many realities of her life, including that Death awaits her at the end of her journey. In an attempt to save the remaining members of Agatha All Along‘s witch coven, Lilia sacrificed herself to defeat a greater enemy.

8 Lilia Kills The Salem Seven Using The Witches’ Road

The Villains Of Agatha All Along Were Defeated

The villains in question are Agatha All Along‘s Salem Seven. These witches have been teased as the show’s primary villains thus far due to the bad blood between them and Agatha. Agatha All Along episode 5 revealed that the Salem Seven are the children of the witches Agatha was shown to kill during the flashback to the Salem Witch Trials in WandaVision.

Agatha All Along introduces a new team of magical supervillains based on Agatha Harkness’ powerful shapeshifting enemies from Marvel Comics.

In Agatha All Along episode 7, the Salem Seven seemingly corners the coven. However, Lilia succeeds in passing the trial, allowing Jen, Agatha, and Billy to escape. As a means of ensuring the Salem Seven do not follow the coven she has come to love, Lilia stays behind and uses one of the visions to defeat them. Her previous outburst of “The tower reversed” referenced what Lilia called the Windfall, which saw her reverse the gravity in the tower and impale the Salem Seven on the swords hanging from the ceiling, at the cost of her own life.

7 Rio Vidal Is Lady Death

Agatha All Along’s Biggest Theory Is Answered

Marvel Comics’ Lady Death has long been theorized to appear in the MCU, with Agatha All Along episode 7 finally confirming how she does so. In the episode, Lilia used her divination powers to fit together her seemingly non-linear life and came to the conclusion that death awaits her at the end of her journey. However, Lilia sees Death in person, represented by Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal.

Clues About Rio’s Identity As Lady Death

Rio entered The Witches’ Road by emerging from a grave

Rio said she will take the coven’s bodies once Agatha kills them

Agatha pleaded with Rio not to take Teen when he was stabbed

Rio said she had to do her job despite hurting someone she loves, referencing taking Nicholas Scratch from Agatha

Rio laughed when the Ouija board mentioned that death was among the coven

Rio stated she hates ghosts, likely because ghosts are spirits who defy death

Rio disappeared after Alice’s death, as she had her job to do

There have been many clues throughout Agatha All Along that Rio is actually the MCU’s Lady Death. In the absence of the Salem Seven, Death could become the primary villain of the show in the two-part finale. This would certainly make sense, as Rio has not been secretive about her desire to kill Agatha, something that links to her true nature as the MCU’s personification of Death.

6 The Witches’ Road’s Fourth Trial Is Designed For Lilia

Lilia’s Divination Powers Came To Fruition

Lilia as Queen of Cups Agatha All Along Episode 7

Agatha All Along episode 7 centered around the fourth trial of The Witches’ Road, this time designed for Lilia. After Jen, Alice, and Agatha faced their trials, Lilia was forced to do the same. This trial linked Tarot Cards to Lilia’s past, as the character explored the various times in her life when flashes of the future were presented to her. Previously, Lilia was unsure of how the pieces were assembled. In Agatha All Along episode 7, though, she made sense of this journey, thus aiding her coven in passing the trial.

5 Agatha Tells Billy The Scarlet Witch Might Not Be Dead

Wanda May Be Alive After All

Before Agatha All Along episode 7 switched its focus to Lilia, it showed a conversation between Billy and Agatha. The former asked the latter whether Wanda Maximoff was really dead after the ending of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness seemingly confirmed so. Agatha initially replies with yes, before stating “No. Maybe.”

In a true personification of the audience, Billy looks visibly confused and frustrated at Agatha’s answers. This leads her to tell Billy that if he wants straight answers, he needs to ask a straight person. Despite the vagueness, this exchange could mean that Wanda is not dead after all. Many have theorized that this show, specifically the powers of The Witches’ Road, could lead to the Scarlet Witch’s resurrection. After Agatha’s comments in Agatha All Along episode 7, resurrection may not be entirely necessary should Wanda still be alive.

4 Lilia’s Previous Premonitions Are Finally Explained

The Flashes Of The Future From Past Episodes Now Make Sense

Via Lilia’s trial in Agatha All Along episode 7, the character’s past premonitions now make sense. Throughout Agatha All Along‘s many episodes, the character has been prone to outbursts that make little sense to the story at hand. That said, Agatha All Along episode 7 explained that Lilia’s powers mean her timeline is somewhat non-linear. When she experiences flashes, she almost literally transports to that point in time, experiencing moments before being pulled back to where she was.

4 Ways The MCU Has Ruined Endgame’s Time Travel Rules 4 Years Later

The MCU rules of time travel as established by Avengers: Endgame have very much changed in some very striking (and also exciting) ways.

In Agatha All Along episode 7, several of these prior moments suddenly make sense. For example, two separate moments from the show were shown to fit together; in one episode, Lilia stated “Alice don’t,” while in another she said, “Try to save Agatha!” Rather than being two separate statements, these outbursts were revealed to fit together in Agatha All Along episode 7, with Lilia attempting to stop Alice’s death when she tried to save Agatha from possession in episode 5. The other premonitions linked to Lilia’s trial, finally fitting into place as of episode 7.

3 Jen And Lilia Learn Teen Is Billy Maximoff, Son Of The Scarlet Witch

A smaller reveal in Agatha All Along episode 7 is that Jen and Lilia learn of Teen’s true identity. The episode has the two learn this via Lilia’s premonitions. The character flashes forward to the trial before experiencing it, learning that he is actually Billy Maximoff. Upon returning to the present, Lilia tells Jen what she learned, and the two discover that the Scarlet Witch’s legacy lives on via Billy.

At the end of Agatha All Along episode 7, Billy retrieves his spellbook from Lilia. The character mentioned in a previous episode that he lost the spellbook, with Lilia finding it in the tunnels beneath The Witches’ Road. As she ushered Billy out of the tower before she stayed behind to kill the Salem Seven, Lilia gave Billy his spellbook back.

This now means that Billy is better equipped to face the myriad dangers that likely await at the end of The Witches’ Road. Be it the threat that Rio Vidal’s Lady Death now possesses to him or the other perils that The Witches’ Road conjures, Billy can draw upon his knowledge to overcome them. His spellbook has been shown to help him do so in past episodes, and its return was depicted as an important moment going into Agatha All Along‘s two-episode finale.

1 Agatha, Billy, And Jen Continue On The Road

The Road Goes Ever On

As Lilia sacrificed herself, Agatha, Billy, and Jen continued down The Witches’ Road. As alluded to, Agatha All Along‘s finale is spread over two episodes, both set to be released on Disney+ on October 30. Thus far, the trials of The Witches’ Road have been attributed to Jen, Alice, Agatha, and Lilia, in that order. As such, Billy Maximoff’s trial is all that remains.

In Agatha All Along episodes 8 and 9, Billy will face his trial. This will likely see him confront his past as William Kaplan and his new future as Billy Maximoff. Similarly, it could answer the lingering questions over Scarlet Witch’s fate, as well as where Tommy Maximoff is. Meanwhile, Agatha and Rio will likely have a final showdown, while mysteries remain over what Lilia meant when she described Jennifer as the “Path Ahead” and someone of immense spiritual power in Agatha All Along episode 7, teasing a big finale ahead.
