Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has unveiled a multi-billion-naira bus terminal in Umuahia capital city.
The Governor emphasized the importance of the new bus terminal, stating that it will centralize all motor parks and railway terminals within the city. This move according to him, aims to improve traffic flow and create a more organized transportation system in Umuahia.
Governor Otti also announced the renaming of the newly commissioned Ossah Expressway. The road, now known as Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi Boulevard, honours the first military Head of State of Nigeria, who hailed from Umuahia.
Among the projects commissioned to Mark the governor’s one year anniversary in office, is the reconstructed Okpara Square Water Fountain.
These projects, constructed by German firm CRANEBURG, serves as the first of its kind in the state and signifies the Governor’s vision for modernizing Umuahia’s infrastructure.
“Umuahia, in the next one year, you may not be able to recognise it if you travel,” Otti assured.
