Alec Baldwin has been met with a huge backlash after announcing a new reality TV series with his family on TLC.
The 30 Rock actor, 66, is facing charges of involuntary manslaughter after the fatal shooting of cinematographer Hutchins on the set of Rust in October 2021.
This is the second time he has been charged, and he has pleaded not guilty in both instances – he faces 18 months behind bars if convicted.
Ahead of his upcoming trial, he revealed that he has opened the doors to his home for a new TLC program, alongside wife Hilaria Baldwin and their seven children.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2012, confirmed the news on Instagram earlier today, giving a glimpse into their chaotic family home.
‘We have an announcement to make,’ the 40-year-old – who was previously accused of faking being Spanish – began, before being interrupted by her worried husband.
‘Good God, no,’ she quickly replied. ‘No, definitely not! We’re done having kids.’
‘We’re inviting you into our home to experience the ups and downs, the good, the bad, the wild and the crazy,’ Alec – who is also dad to daughter Ireland Baldwin – continued, over footage of their brood running around.
‘Home is the place we love to be most.’
The pair were then joined by Carmen, Rafael, Leonardo, Romeo, Eduardo, Maria and Ilaria at the end of the clip, instructing the family to yell ‘we are the Baldwins’ at the end of the clip.
‘And we’re coming to TLC,’ the Boss Baby actor added. ‘God help you all!’
A premiere date has not yet been confirmed.
However, the announcement didn’t go down too well with possible viewers, who slammed the decision to give Alec a huge platform in the lead up to his court trial.
Derektbh penned: ‘Not sure if this is exactly what we need from him at this moment.’
Eddiep118 questioned: ‘Literally who asked for this.’
As Lisa Bee added: ‘This is nothing the world needs.’
Alec shot and killed Halyna on the set of Rust in 2021, when the gun he was holding accidentally discharged.
Director Joel Souza was also injured in the incident, but was able to recover.
The star has always insisted that he was unaware that the weapon was loaded and maintained his innocence – and has since returned to complete the film, with the filmmaker.
Last January, Alec was charged with involuntary manslaughter and pleaded not guilty, but this was dismissed without prejudice a few months later.
The charges were refiled at the beginning of the year, and his legal team shared that they were ‘looking forward to our day in court’.
In legal documents, he also stated: ‘I plea not guilty to all of the charges in the complaint or citation.’
