Summary
- Netflix rotates its content monthly, meaning popular titles like Bullet Train and Ready Player One are leaving in June 2024.
- The Imitation Game, A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, and Kill Bill are also set to be removed from Netflix this month.
- From acclaimed biopics to iconic horror series, Netflix users should catch these titles before they leave at the end of June.
Netflix has an ever-changing content library, meaning that while some great new titles arrive, some key shows and movies are leaving in June 2024. Since its inception, Netflix has positioned itself as the preeminent streaming service, and they were one of the first to delve into the world of original content, including the arrival of big hit films like Atlas and the hit series Bridgerton last month. However, the streamer also has a great reputation for hosting other content, and they are a one-stop-shop for everything from classic series to some of Hollywood’s biggest films.
Netflix alters its lineup every month, and many shows and movies on Netflix have a limited time on the platform. May 2024 saw the platform losing some high-profile titles. May marked the final days for Netflix users to enjoy acclaimed movies like Uncut Gems and L.A. Confidential, family-friendly movies like Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, and the entire Hunger Games franchise. June 2024 will mark the end of some more high-profile titles on Netflix which include some content that is exclusive to the streaming platform.

The Best Movies And TV Shows Leaving Netflix June 2024
An Iconic Horror Franchise, An Action-Packed Brad Pitt Movie, & Tarantino’s Revenge Film
Bullet Train (2022)
Just as The Fall Guy comes to VOD, another one of director David Leitch’s action comedies will be leaving Netflix on June 2. Bullet Train is a wild ride starring Brad Pitt as a reluctant assassin who takes a seemingly easy job of securing a package that is on a high-speed train. As it turns out, he is not the only one on the train looking for the package and he soon finds himself in the midst of a bloody and relentless showdown with a number of enemies.
Bullet Train is packed with Easter eggs and cameos to make it a hugely enjoyable ride with one of Pitt’s funniest roles to date. He is also backed by a strong ensemble who help to bring this colorful collection of deadly characters. Of course, Leitch also delivers on the action with some incredibly fun sequences.
Ready Player One (2018)
Steven Spielberg’s most recent sci-fi movie leaves Netflix on June 2. Ready Player One is an adaptation of the popular cult novel by Ernest Cline which takes place in a future in which society can escape into a virtual reality adventure world where they interact with some of their favorite characters from pop culture. However, when the designer of the world dies, he hides an Easter egg in the game, promising that whoever finds it will inherit his company.
Spielberg creates a sci-fi version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory that sees him playing in a larger CGI world than he has ever done before. While it lacks some of the magic of his other genre classics, it is a lot of fun watching a movie in which Spielberg features Batman, Chucky, and The Iron Giant as characters.
The Imitation Game (2014)
Benedict Cumberbatch stars in an Oscar-nominated biopic leaving Netflix on June 25. Cumberbatch stars in The Imitation Game as Alan Turing in the story of how he and a team of brilliant minds worked to break the German’s Enigma Code which was a hugely influential victory in winning World War II. Despite his work, Turing was still forced to hide his sexuality for fear of what his government would do to him.
Cumberbatch is excellent as the layered protagonist in a role that earned him his first Oscar nomination. He is also backed by an impressive supporting cast that includes Keira Knightley, Charles Dance, and Mark Strong. It makes for a unique movie about the war while also telling the tragic story of an influential genius that many people may not be aware of despite his important contributions.
A Nightmare On Elm Street Franchise
One of the most iconic horror movie franchises will be leaving Netflix on June 30. Wes Craven’s legendary original movie introduced audiences to one of the greatest and most memorable horror movie villains of all time, Freddy Krueger, played by Robert Englund. Krueger is a scarred and sadistic monster who is able to enter the dreams of his victims and kill them in gruesome and creative ways.
The entire franchise will be removed from Netflix at the end of the month, including the poorly received reboot starring Jackie Earl Haley as Krueger. Like most horror movie franchises, not every entry is a winner, but the best A Nightmare on Elm Street movies make for some of the most entertaining scary movies of all time with some terrific bold choices taken. If nothing else, the original classic deserves to be watched before it is gone.
Kill Bill (2003-2004)
Quentin Tarantino’s epic two-parter kung-fun action movie is leaving Netflix on June 30. Uma Thurman stars in Kill Bill as The Bride, a deadly assassin who is betrayed by her former boss and colleagues and left for dead. Upon waking from a long coma, she sets out on a determined mission to hunt down each one of them who wronged her and kill them, saving the most deadly of them all for last; her ex-boss, Bill.
Following his first three crime movies in his filmography, Kill Bill showed a new side of Tarantino’s talents as a director, crafting a genuinely terrific action movie with incredible action sequences. Thurman makes for an incredible action start yet also brings heart, vulnerability, and humanity to the role. While the long-awaited Kill Bill Vol. 3 doesn’t seem likely, Netflix users still have a chance to watch the excellent two-part saga.
