Intel, world-famous for pioneering the NUC range of embedded PCs since 2012, has recently chosen to leave the mini PC market behind. However, this departure does not mean the end for consumers seeking the convenience of computing with small form factors.

Enter GEEKOM, ready to pick up where Intel left off with its Mini IT series of mini PCs that have already made a name for themselves as viable. Replacement for Intel NUC Pros. The Mini IT12 features support for three storage drives and the ability to deliver video output to up to four monitors simultaneously.

Intel NUC alternative

A direct competitor to Intel’s NUC 12 Pro Wall Street Canyon, the GEEKOM Mini IT12 shares a similar design aesthetic. However, where the NUC 12 Pro opts for Core-P series processors, the Mini IT12 distinguishes itself by offering more powerful 45W Core-H processors. Mini IT12 offers a plethora of connectivity options in the form of two USB4 40Gbps ports, three USB3.2 Gen 2 ports, one USB2.0 port, two HDMI 2.0 ports, a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

One of the outstanding features of GEEKOM’s offerings is their pricing. GEEKOM mini PC prices are about 30% lower than their Intel counterparts. For example, the Mini IT12 equipped with a Core i5-1240P, 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD comes in at just $499. Compare this to the similar-spec NUC 12 Pro, which would have set you back $639.

Mini IT12 vs. Benchmark Laptop

GEEKOM is not only keen to offer alternatives to the current Intel NUC Pro range, but also interested in the future. The Mini IT11 matches GEEKOM’s look at the NUC 11 Pro, and the MiniAir 11 presents itself as a worthy alternative to the NUC 11 Essential.
