Ant McPartlin’s baby boy has already been welcomed into the Britain’s Got Talent family.

The Geordie TV presenter, 48, and his wife, Anne-Marie Corbett, 46, welcomed their first child together just weeks ago.

Announcing the adorable news, Ant took to social media with a cuddly snap, showing off his bundle of joy as well as a family tree tattoo on his arm.

Revealing the baby’s name, he wrote to his millions of followers: ‘Welcome to the family Wilder Patrick McPartlin. Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54am.

‘Baby is beautiful, Mummy’s a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad’s a mess!’

The first live semi-final of this year’s BGT marked Ant’s return to work after becoming a dad, with the likes of Simon Cowell keen to congratulate him.

During the show’s opening alongside co-star Declan Donnelly, Ant chatted to judges Simon, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli about the week ahead and the acts’ performances.

Before the first performer took to the stage, Simon took a moment to say: ‘Can I just say congratulations to you, Ant.’

The audience then cheered as Ant graciously thanked his boss, a big smile on his face.

‘I really am happy,’ added the former X Factor judge.

Ant replied: ‘And thank you for your lovely gift.’

The Saturday Night Takeaway host then joked that he was ‘still waiting’ on a present from the other judges, as the one he received was only ‘signed’ by Simon.

Viewers took to X after the sweet exchange, hearts fully melted.

As fans probably expected, the star is godfather to the little one.

Ant is also a godparent to Dec’s two children, daughter Isla and son Jack, the latter of whom has the middle name ‘Anthony’ in tribute to their friendship.

Venturing into fatherhood means that Ant probably won’t appear on TV screens as much in the coming years, as he has said he wants to spend more time at home.

It comes after he and Dec decided to park Saturday Night Takeaway for a while, putting the show on hiatus after its 20th series.

Speaking ahead of its launch, Ant told Fault Magazine: ‘On a more personal level, part of the reason we’re pausing Takeaway is we need a break ourselves, and we need to spend some time with our family.

‘We’ve both got children that we need to spend time with for a little bit.

‘We need time to think and, and time to step back and look at the bigger picture and just see where we are now.’

Britain’s Got Talent airs all this week on ITV1 and ITVX.
