AOC announces one of the cheapest ultrawide QD-OLED monitors

AOC has announced one of the cheapest ultrawide QD-OLED monitors on the market. Measuring 34in, it combines Quantum Dot’s excellent characteristics with a lower resolution and refresh to reduce cost.

Agon Pro AG346UCD is a 1,800R curved 34in gaming monitor that features QD-OLED technology. Thanks to its broad UWQHD (3440×1440) resolution and 175Hz refresh rate, more PCs can drive it to its max. But most importantly, selecting balanced specs like these helps reduce its final cost to a more palatable price.

If all goes according to plan, AG346UCD should hit shelves later this month at £669.99. This puts it among the cheapest QD-OLED displays boasting similar specs, specifically Alienware AW3423DWF and Philips Evnia 34M2C8600. That said, if you don’t mind having an OLED without Quantum Dots, then Gigabyte MO34WQC2 offers a higher 240Hz for just a little extra.

The remaining specs are similar to those in other QD-OLED-based screens. You get super-fast 0.03ms GtG response times, a 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio, and there’s no retina-blasting brightness as AOC only advertises 250nits – probably in SDR. Moving to HDR, we find a DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, which is standard on most OLEDs these days. It might be a base feature, but it’s still brilliant for playing games or watching movies in a dark room. There’s even an anti-reflection treatment to suppress any lighting you may have on.

AOC has equipped AG346UCD with two HDMI 2.0 ports and a single DisplayPort 1.4, which is more than enough to drive its spec. Helping you neaten cables, there’s a USB hub packing three USB 3.2 Gen 1 connections for peripherals and other devices. There’s even a built-in 8W speaker setup for those who plan to hook up a console.

Stick with the ergonomic stand, and you get a 130mm height adjustment, -5° to +25° tilt, and 28° swivel. Toss is aside, and you can pop this display on an arm using its 100mm VESA mount.

To ensure user confidence, Agon Pro AG346UCD is backed by a three-year warranty that includes OLED burn-in. This way you can have peace of mind when using it.
