Arsenal have released their official third kit for the upcoming 2024/25 campaign and the club pulled out all the stops with their star-studded promotional video for the unique strip.
The Gunners’ home and away kits for the new season were unveiled earlier in the summer and supporters have had to be patient for the third kit – but it was worth the wait.
This morning, the lilac and blue adidas jersey, featuring Arsenal’s iconic cannon, hit the shelves for the first time and fans will no doubt be desperate to get their hands on it in time for their opening game at home to Wolves this weekend.
An authentic adult’s kit will set supporters back £110, while the children’s version is available for half the price at £55.
The stylish launch video, which is narrated by Hollywood actor Will Poulter, centres around Arsenal’s reputation for being ‘original’ and features the likes of Kelly Smith and Vic Akers – celebrated for their legacy with the women’s team.
Towards the end of the two-minute long video, there is also a cameo appearance from former captain Patrick Vieira, prompting Poulter to remark, ‘At The Arsenal, it’s important to be as stylish off the pitch as it is on it’.
While kicking back on a sunbed beside a swimming pool, Vieira can be seen smearing his trusty vapor rub all over the front of the kit – a look the Frenchman became known for during his nine-year stay in north London.
‘Much better,’ Poulter says before a beaming Vieira reclines in his chair.
On the club’s official website, Arsenal described their ‘eye-catching’ new third kit as a ‘modern take’ on their kits of the 1990s.
‘Our latest design is a modern take on the beloved 90s iconic kits with a bold, fashionable design, combined with a hint of nostalgia,’ the statement reads.
‘A smart, crew neck collar and matching sleeve detailing complement the elegance of the adidas trefoil – used to mark the brand’s 75th anniversary – and the cannon to create a vibrant, eye-catching look.’
The north London giants – last year’s runners-up in the Premier League – kick off their new campaign versus Wolves at the Emirates on Saturday.
Mikel Arteta’s side have enjoyed a mixed pre-season, beating Bayer Leverkusen and Lyon in comprehensive fashion in their final friendlies.
On their pre-season tour of the United States prior to the Emirates Cup, Arsenal beat Bournemouth on penalties before suffering back-to-back defeats at the hands of Manchester United and Liverpool.
