Gabriel Jesus has warned Liverpool about Arsenal’s superior goal difference and insists ‘anything can happen’ in the Premier League title race.
Liverpool went to the top of the table this weekend thanks to their 2-1 win over Brighton coupled with Arsenal’s 0-0 draw with Manchester City at the Etihad.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are now the favourites to secure the Premier League trophy and have a two point lead over Arsenal, while they are three points clear of City.
The Gunners are attempting to land their first top-flight title in 20 years and came desperately close last term before a late capitulation saw them miss out to City.
Liverpool are the only side to have stopped City’s Premier League dominance in recent years – winning the 2019-20 title – and Jesus has a message for the Reds.
‘It’s the Premier League, it’s a tough league and anything can happen,’ the Arsenal forward said – with all three teams now having just nine fixtures left.
‘It is only two points, the difference [with Liverpool], and then we have a very good goal difference.
‘Everything counts at the end, but there are still a lot of games. We also have the Champions League.
‘This is the most beautiful part of the season, you try everything to win titles.’
Jesus won multiple Premier League titles during his five-year stint at the Etihad before he swapped Manchester to join Arsenal in the summer of 2022.
