Brazilian singer Ayres Sasaki has died aged 35 from being electrocuted after hugging a fan, it’s been reported.

On July 13, the musician was reportedly performing a concert at Solar Hotel in Salinopolis, Brazil when he hugged a fan who was soaking wet.

After hugging the fan, Sasaki is said to have suffered an electric shock, resulting in his death.

Hotel Solar, the establishment where he was performing, released a statement after his death, which reads after being translated from Portugueses: ‘Hotel Solar deeply regrets the loss of its beloved Ayres Sasaki. Since yesterday, we are entirely dedicated to providing support to their family and taking care of necessary measures.

‘We are in direct contact with your family, offering all the necessary support at this difficult time.

‘We reiterate our commitment to collaborate fully with the competent authorities for the due clarifications.

‘Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and Ayres Sasaki’s friends at this difficult time.’

According to Billboard Brazil, the Pará Civil Police are investigating the case.
