Bad Sisters Stars Anne-Marie Duff & Fiona Shaw Tease Thrilling Episodes And Fascinating Character Introductions In Season 2

Bad Sisters is back for season 2, picking up two years after the end of season 1 and the “accidental death” of Grace’s abusive husband, John Paul. The Garvey sisters are trying to move on — and they have for the most part — but when past truths resurface, the ladies are thrust back into the spotlight and forced to figure out who they can trust.

Anne-Marie Duff plays Grace, who is in a much different place at the start of this season than she was when we last saw her. In fact, she is in love and getting ready to get married again. Killing Eve‘s Fiona Shaw plays a newcomer to the series, Angelica, who is an old friend of Grace’s who has been starting to drift in recent years. The eight-episode Bad Sisters season 2 debuts on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on November 13, followed by new episodes every Wednesday.

Bad Sisters Season 2 Trailer: A New Dead Body May Reveal Past Secrets As Dark Comedy With 100% RT Score Returns

Ahead of the dark comedy’s return, the trailer for Bad Sisters for season 2 introduces another murder and brings in a three-time Emmy nominee.

S creen Rant interviewed Anne-Marie Duff and Fiona Shaw about the upcoming second season of Bad Sisters. Shaw reveals what it was like to join the cast while Duff admits she, and the rest of the talented cast, were thrilled for her to be a part of the show. They also both tease what Bad Sisters season 2 episodes they are excited for fans to watch.

The Bad Sisters Cast Was Thrilled To Welcome Fiona Shaw To Their Family

“We were so blown away that she would be involved. Because you just want everybody brilliant in the room.”

Screen Rant: What was it like joining the cast for season 2, Fiona?

Fiona Shaw: Can you imagine? I just backed myself slowly into a corner and realized there was no escape. They were delightful, and I was scared stiff of them. [Laughs] I wasn’t really because Sharon Horgan had told me that she had said to them that I might be joining the show, and she said they were very pleased. I knew I was in with some good pals, so it was good.

Anne-Marie Duff: We were so blown away that she would be involved. And we were genuinely, really chuffed. Because you just want everybody brilliant in the room, don’t you? And also that Sharon had created another incredible female character. Angelica is delicious, isn’t she? The audiences are going to gobble her up. She’s so tasty, you know? So, yeah, we were all really thrilled.

Grace Is Shining At The Beginning Of Bad Sisters Season 2

“At some point in the future, but we don’t know when the truth will out, and everything’s going to change for her.”

Screen Rant: Can you talk a little bit about where we find Grace at the start of season 2?

Anne-Marie Duff: When we last see Grace at the end of season 1, she’s leaping into the unknown, isn’t she? But there was so much sadness and sorrow all through the first season of Bad Sisters. So when we see her shining at the beginning of season 2, and feeling like she’s on the precipice, she’s just about to start this gorgeous new chapter of life where she gets to be happy. It’s lovely for the audience, isn’t it? But also we know that, and they know that, and that at some point in the future, but we don’t know when the truth will out, and everything’s going to change for her, and how that will manifest. We don’t know, but we’re waiting for it. It’s a funny old sort of ticking time bomb, isn’t it?

Fiona Shaw: She can never get clear water, Grace, can’t she? Because her first marriage was wrong, and then the second one, she can’t have clear water because she’s got a secret. It’s very interesting, and her friendship doesn’t work because she’s also got a secret. And somehow that’s very understandable.

Anne-Marie Duff: It’s like he never leaves her. He’s still controlling her from the grave.

Screen Rant: Can you tell us a little bit about Angelica?

Fiona Shaw: Angelica is a slightly religious, very odd bod, who is living with her brother and some rabbits, and who doesn’t have the biggest life. She certainly doesn’t have the glamorous life of those sisters, and she doesn’t have the company of the sisters, and she doesn’t have the outlook of those sisters, so she’s completely at odds with them. I think she’s delusional to think that she can be friends with them, but she thinks she can.

We meet her at the races, when already Grace is trying to back off of the friendship, and, I think, already, poor, poor Angelica is hurt that Grace doesn’t seem to be as nice as she was, but that’s how we set up. So we set up on the wrong foot, and that’s very good fun to play.

Every Episode Of Bad Sisters Season 2 Is Thrilling

“There’s so many twists and turns.”

The cast of Bad Sisters Season 1

Screen Rant: What episode are you most excited for fans to see in season 2?

Anne-Marie Duff: The episode with the boat is great.

Fiona Shaw: The episode with the boat is great. That’s good fun.

Anne-Marie Duff: Also episode two has got a massive cliffhanger, so that’s really good fun. There’s so many twists and turns. I think every episode is really thrilling.

Fiona Shaw: I’d say episode one because they’re going to be launched into something, you said the word delicious, so delicious. Actually, there’s so many things going on at that wedding, and I think that they know they’re in for a good time.
