be quiet! is no stranger to making tranquil AIO liquid coolers, but its latest device takes things to the next level. Alongside promising a high-performing, silent unit, Light Loop looks like a night light that could easily put you down for a nap. The only thing missing is a softly sung lullaby to accompany it.
Packing up to 64 LEDs inside the pump, it’s an eye-catching centrepiece that immediately demands your attention when you walk into the room. It’s perhaps a little less fancy than an LCD screen, but entirely more practical given how often you’ll glance away from your monitor. The frosted cooling block is unlike anything I’ve personally seen before. The closest is perhaps EK Water Block’s EK-AIO or Corsair’s iCUE Link H150i RGB.
My only complaint is the central logo. As much as I love be quiet! and the brand is rightly proud of its latest product, it distracts from an otherwise flawless pastel party. It’s much less intrusive on the white model, but something to keep in mind. My hope is that future iterations will feature magnetic, removable branding to give people the option. Even putting it along the braided tubing would work.
Each Light Loop is paired with a series of new Light Wings LX fans, which relocate the LEDs from an outside ring to the impeller in the centre. The result is a more even illumination across the radiator. These sync flawlessly to the block, so you can put on a full-blown light show. Integrating with the rest of your case, the fans daisy chain together and include a be quiet! ARGB PWM Hub that can connnect up to six fans in total.
Working across AM4 and a variety of Intel’s best CPUs from LGA 1851, 1700, 1200, and 1155/1/0 sockets, it gives AM5 special priority with an 8mm offset. This is to cover the processor’s hot spots, cooling it with a combination of jet and cold plates. The jet plate increases pressure, circulating the liquid better, while the cold plate uses the high-density fin stack to reduce temps. It’s all finely balanced for the perfect harmony.
Perhaps my favourite part of the whole thing is that it’s easy to refill the liquid with an access port. The brand even chucks in a spare coolant bottle for good measure. It’s not the only be quiet! AIO to do it, but even the best CPU coolers around tend not to give that level of care. Since I want my components to last as long as possible, this is a huge checkmark for Light Loop.
Aiming for a September launch, be quiet! Light Loop comes in 240mm and 360mm models, each with the option of black or white. Prices start at $129.90 / €129.90 for the smaller and $159.90 / €159.90 for the larger. White versions will cost you a small premium, simply because it isn’t easy to get the casting uniform. Honestly, it pairs fantastically with the be quiet! Light Base cases also announced this Computex, which are well worth checking out.
