Sanders is 81 years old, and Biden is 80 years old.
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who is 81 years old, supported President Biden, who is 80 years old, against voter complaints that he doesn’t have enough energy and drive to keep running the country.
“I talked to the president… We had a great talk about five or six weeks ago. Sanders, an independent, told Chuck Todd of NBC News’ “Meet The Press” on Sunday morning that the man seemed good to him.
Todd had asked the man who called himself a democratic socialist if he had any tips for the president about “how he should calm the public’s fears about his age.”
“One way you show that age doesn’t matter to you is that you’re pretty active. We see that you go around the country and do interviews. On Sunday, Todd said, “It’s clear that many voters care about it when it comes to Vice President Biden.”
Sanders said that people should judge Biden based on “a lot of things.”Sanders said, “A candidate, whether it’s Joe Biden, Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders, or anyone else, has to think about a lot of things.”
“I think what we have to ask ourselves at the end of the day is, what do people stand for? Do you think women should be in charge of their bodies? So, the president has been very clear about this. Do you believe in climate change, or do you agree with the Republicans that it doesn’t matter?” he asked.
Sanders ran for president in 2020 but is now backing Biden, even for the 2024 race.
“So, Chuck, age is a problem, but there are also a lot of bigger problems,” he said.
